Lovely little gem of a place. We was only there for lunch but food was amazing and very affordable.

I enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks at the Bax on Saturday. The new ownership has brought a whole new menu which is both great value for money and outstanding quality. I would highly recommend!

Only early days of the new owners so pub was very quiet will need to get established. The food was average, and the pub had no atmosphere. If they are going to employ young staff only please train them properly, first question to the barman at 19.00 when we went in was can you feed two of us the reply was I will have to ask the

Looks like another local pub is on the downhill slope?Times are tough but this once lovely pub has lost a lot of its former glory. Removing the front lawn hasn’t helped. A bit like sitting in a car park for a drink, which I suppose you are.

I had such a lovely visit one afternoon a few months ago, with my son and my Dad after a rather wet walk in the woods. It was so peaceful and relaxing.I am looking forward to taking my husband for a birthday lunch soon!

Amazing food and drink, with quick service there was always a friendly face around. Would take the family back their if summer was still with us☀️

This place is great for kids with the inflatables outside and is great for families to have a drink. Unfortunately the food was terrible. Both my husband and I had burgers and both got upset tummies. The food came out luke warm with wilted lettuce in the burger. Wish we had had pizza instead as these looked ok.Kid-friendliness: Great inflatables outside.
Great location, nice staff but mixed feelings about what they have done with the beer garden. Good for families who want a pint whilst their kids hit the bouncy castles, perhaps not so good for those without children!

Great - cool bouncy castles, fantastic for kids. Garden could do with a little tidy up.

Not one to leave reviews but can honestly say Sid made our stopover the best in all of our travels. Definitely the best family run pubs in the area

Just a note: site is not updated in time. BE CAREFUL. We tried to use this site twice. First time it was a pleasant surprise, because according to the published menu I could have nothing for lunch with my dietary problems and I brought my lunch with me from home. On arrival we realized that the current menu simply has not been published. So I could make my order at the pub. Secondly - our yesterday, (03.10.2023) sad experience. We use to walk (90min) to this pub from home, have lunch there and walk(90min) back. Very convenient routine, because South-Downs Link is rather pleasant walk. We checked the pub's site in advance - everything looks fine and - off we go... only to find at 1 pm the locked door without any explanation - why. According to the site, pub should be closed only on Mondays, on Tuesday it should be open at 12am. Nevertheless there was not any notes at the locked door. Not sure will we go again to this pub.

Food was delicious, lovely and hot too. We were served even though we arrived a few minutes after the cut-off for service and staff really
