Had lunch with a friend. All started very well with very helpful & speedy order taking. Restaurant was very busy but despite this we still felt our conversation was private and restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Our date was ruined only by the plastic cups! Don’t understand that at all!

My wife and I came for lunch and were greeted by Mee Mee, who was so friendly and helpful. She recommended some great items from the menu and took some time to tell us more about South Lodge. The food was great but the whole experience was elevated thanks to her service on the day. Will definitely be returning again soon.

From the welcome at the front we knew this was special. Very bright, airy with loads of space. Beautiful decor and brilliant waitress service, possibly the best ever. The food was exquisite and although expensive, well worth it. My sea bream was faultless.

What can I say! The food in the Botanica is, without exception, superb. The whole experience is made even more special by Anderson and his team. He has the ability to make you feel very welcome without being intrusive. During our recent stay, we ate breakfast there every morning and dinner on one occasion. The menu is inspiring and unusual with food combinations that I wouldn’t think of! Anderson and his team are very knowledgeable about the various dishes and keen to listen to your opinions too.

My partner and I had the most fabulous experience at Botanica on our 2nd anniversary. I was over the moon that the restaurant has taken the brave decision to go dairy free, in recognition of the harm that the dairy industry does to the environment and the terrifying treatment of sentient animals bred so another species can steal its calf milk.The food was wonderful at Botanica and we spent two hours savouring it with the views of the south downs in the background.Mimi the waitress was absolutely lovely and we look forward to returning very soon.Dietary restrictions: Terrific selection of dishes for vegans - four out of five desserts were vegan! Wine list clearly marked vegan. Excellent.

First time we have visited and thought what a lovely setting. Loved the colour scheme of bronze and neutrals. Fantastic food, great to see it being cooked. Service was brilliant. Really couldn’t fault the whole experience. Was very happy with the choices, non animal dairy, plant based and a good choice of gluten free options, perfect for me and my husband loved the wasted burger even though he is a meat eater. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed everything and not put off by the front of house welcome who seemed put out that we were 3 and not 2 (as booked) which at 8am with nobody else in the restaurant was a joke. When we left there were only 2 other tables occupied - what a pompous joke.

It’s been an absolute delight to eat in such a wonderful restaurant and having so much plant based options to choose from.The staff are lovely and very attentive, the chefs produce some incredible tasting dishes.100% support your decision to remove dairy from your restaurant, I look forward to the day it’s fully plant based :)Will definitely be returning again and again.Thank you for leading the wayDietary restrictions: Mainly lead by plant based options.No dairy and not nuts used.Vegan food at its finest

I have been to this restaurant several times and really enjoyed it and the food has always been delicious. I am pleased that so much of it is plant based. However, I am wondering if there has recently been a change of chef? I ordered the stone bass which was well cooked however the leek and potato cake was swarming in grease and fell apart on the plate which marred the taste of the whole dish. It tasted very oily and unpleasant. If you are going to keep to these prices then the standard of food has to be better - which it always has been on previous occasions.

I feel bad for not giving 5 stars but unfortunately the food just wasn't too my liking. Admittedly the whole ethos of the menu was about plant based and healthy living but that's just not really my thing. Other part member said the food was too salty for them. Can't fault the staff though who were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere and views were second to none.Vegetarian options: Virtually every dish was vegetarianParking: Huge parking area

Botanica was a beautiful spot to end the day with a delicious dinner. The food was extremely tasty, staff were very helpful and friendly, and the ambience was very calming. Would absolutely recommend stopping by for a bit to eat.
