Nice country pub in the village where I lived for many years. Nice service and good beers. Opted for a sandwich with salad and chips, which was good. Somehow though, I thought it would be toasted - not to worry. Took me down memory lane......

Came in as quiet group for a lunchtime drink. When we came in there was no staff at the bar so we walked into the restaurant where a white haired old lady asked if we were eating. When we replied no she told us off for being in the restaurant and ordered use back to the bar. When there I ordered a coke and asked for a food menu where she rudely asked "what for?". Old question when you thought about getting food The coke treated older and flat which just rounded the unpleasant experience. Umm colleagues felt there same and we had none nothing for her ride treatment. Maybe this use a locals only pub and no one else is welcome

Just wanted to thank the team today. After our booked table at another pub couldn’t serve us, due to a power cut, we were accommodated at short notice, made to feel welcome & served absolutely delicious food! We know where to book next time ??

Really friendly welcoming pub with nice cosy atmosphere. Beer in good condition too. I was here for a Sunday roast which was very good. Generous portion of lamb with plenty of veg. My only comment would be as it was served in a bowl, rather than a plate, everything was rather drowned in too much gravy. I would suggest ease off with that and it would be perfect.

Everything about the evening was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient and the food quality was first class. It was a quiet Thursday evening, but this pub deserves to be full every night. Lastly, the price was medium, but very good value.

I have eaten here twice now had vegetable lasagne first time and tonight I had vegan nut roast. Both times food has been amazing best restaurant in this area by far.

Absolutely wonderful food. We had Moussaka, which was nicer than we had eaten in Kefalonia and the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be dining here again!

Used to come here a lot then covid. Children etc. The plough and attic took a booking from us and when we arrived they don't serve dinner Sunday evenings. So went to the star where we had a fantastic evening. Good was generous portion and very yummy. Will definitely be back.

although we don't go out very often Kostas always remembers you and his food is always memorable .A great relaxed evening with friends and fabulous food . If you want real food cooked with passion its the place to go . Excellent.many thanks Kostas to you and your staff

It is a local pub that is pleasantly busy. The staff are engaged and helpful. Service was prompt and we didn't wait too long for our food. It is reasonably priced and there is quite a varied choice which is a bit of a rarity these days

Nice little village local, believed to date back to the 1400s!!! Not a great selection of ales or lagers... and Stella Artois, priced at £6.50 a pint is absolutely scandalous. In my local pub in rural Hampshire, the same drink is £4.75!!!The staff are very friendly and helpful and seem to be well liked by the locals. I didn't eat on this visit and truth be told it's highly unlikely that I'll return... certainly not at these prices.The government announced this week that they were reducing the price on beers by 11p a pint...it obviously passed this place by?

My wife and one of her girlfriends visited yesterday for lunch, as this pub is ideally located between where both live and they thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome and excellent food.
