Visited for the first time Weds 16 August - great place and lovely staff - all making a real effort to chat with us and check everything was ok. Food was outstanding and huge thanks to Nigel the Chef who took time to come and talk to us. We will definitely be coming back for one of his famous roasts and will bring our dogs too as they are very much welcomed! Thanks for the great food and great experience! An odd experience with the chef clearly being busy and on the edge of walking out so the manager was very tentatively accepting food orders. In the end much to our surprise we were granted the privilege to order and from there the food was hot and tasty and the service was good. Onion rings had no flavour as is often the case with home made battered versions, my preference is the breaded option.Nice locals atmosphere and well kept ales - I'd recommend the Sussex Best

What a great place to eat and drink in there. The staff are amazing to chat too.There is lots of choices to eat and drink from.Lots of space in the rear garden area and covered side seating area. Plus the area in side bar.
