“We visited this lovely old pub on a summer evening walk this weekend and were enchanted by its beautiful setting in the woods, its friendly welcome by both staff and locals alike, and how beautifully kept it was - both inside and out. Spent a happy hour sitting outside on a bench in the late evening sun, watching the world go by this little pub peacefully. Will definitely be back next time we’re here. Thank you!”

British • “Nice place for a cuppa and chat with family/friends. Gluten free cakes available and decaff coffee and soya milk. Such a grand room to have a cafe.Only tip would be to get a large size drink as the regular size cup is not that big. Think it was only 35p extra to go large.You can also go here without being NT member. Will definitely return again.”
British • “Great place for brunch and baked goods. Ordered the smoked salmon and avocado toast and it was a very generous portion for the price. What stole the show was the chocolate brownie which was fudgy and rich, I had to buy an extra to take home with me! Friendly staff and lovely relaxed atmosphere”

“Limited number of interesting main courses suggests food freshly prepared. Excellent value at around £16.00 each. 4 of us each chose a different dish, all delicious.

“We were a group of 9 (mixture of adults and kids) and had dinner here. Food was great - the chicken flatbread dish was delicious - and the staff were very friendly and great service. Special shout out to Ruth who went out of her way to post my sunglasses back to me after I left them in the pub!”
