A really lovely, local country pub in a very picturesque village. We went for lunch after visiting Petworth house which is only 2 mins away. The weather was cold so we had a lovely table by the log fire. It’s obviously popular with the locals so has a great atmosphere, the food was really great, definitely recommend the steak and mushroom pie, and the service excellent. It has a large garden at the back and great views so we will definitely be returning in the summer!

We didn't eat here. We had a good pint in this lovely old fashioned pub. The staff and regulars are friendly. It's also dog friendly.Parking: Parking is at the right hand side of the pub and on the road at the front.

We had a superb meal on Saturday evening - food was freshly cooked, vegetables were perfect, service was top notch. We'll definitely be back. The Black Horse has had a chequered past so it's lovely to find it back in fine form.
One of the best pub Sunday Roast dinners we’ve had and certainly the best Sticky Toffee Pudding. Staff, service, food, cleanliness, venue and value excellent. Absolutely recommend.

This great team pulled out all the stops to allow 2 extra guests to join our party on a busy Sunday. Food was delicious and service friendly and helpful. A fantastic little pub, so glad we found it!

Beautiful pub with lovely terraced garden overlooking river at the back. Only two ales on but the T.E.A. was well kept (the other was Youngs Ordinary). An enjoyable stop for a drink in sunshine, food looked good too.

Great service especially from the young man who had only started that day. Food was very good, beautifully clean environment, no sticky tables! Lovely pub garden and pub atmosphere. Dog friendly. Definitely going to visit again.
