Now a butchers not a cafe

We always stop here for a couple of sandwiches and a drink after a long walk at Petworth Park. Staff are welcoming and always friendly, lovely cosy atmosphere. The Croque Monsieur is our favourite bite, oozing with melty cheese and thick cut ham - delish!

Hugely disappointed - spent £15 on a flat white and a ‘croque monsieur’. Flat white came in a paper cup and the croque m was just gross. It was nothing more than some ham and cheese in two bits of over done toast. It came in a paper bag wrapped in napkins, napkins all stuck to the toastie.Couldn’t actually eat the toastie it tasted that bad.Overpriced, no atmosphere and not great food.Very disappointed as really like the Hungry Guest deli shop in Petworth.

Was really looking forward to going to Hungry Guest new venue but was so disappointed. Not a patch on original cafe. There were a total of three people in there but the server insisted he was so busy we couldn’t have china cups as he didn’t have time to wash up so we had to make do with paper cups. No plate for our cake either - same reason given - so cake in a paper bag. Just not good enough and won’t go back again.

While out on a group bike ride we decided here as our coffee/food stop but regretted it later . The outdoor seating with heated it brilliant, especially for cyclists, the coffee was also very nice as was the food - when it eventually came out. The service here was absolutely shocking , out of the 8 of us only 4 got their coffee in reasonable time , the rest of us waited about 20mins just for our drinks , then it was another long wait for the ordered food. It wasn't even busy and seemed to have quite a few staff working so have no idea what the problem was. Funny thing was when we got there one of the staff enquired with us if we were likely to be here for more than an hour , we said no as we would normally only be 30mins but pretty sure we were over an hour due to their shocking delays in getting our drinks and food out. Such a shame , would of gone on my to go list when out riding but not likely to go again with this service.

Really great salad and vegan breakfast dish - both very tasty and worked really well together. Very fresh. 4 out of 5.Pizza was excellent for my young daughter but is very simple as a pizza base, not refined.Service was friendly but there was no ambience and the tables did not live up to the food standard. We will be back.

I was appalled to be charged £12.95 for a small round quiche which had burnt pastry and was hard. This was served with a few leaves even though I asked if it came with salad. When I objected to paying this ridiculous amount my complaint was met with indifference and my pot of tea was deducted from the bill. What an insult. I will quite happily pay for decent food but this is an absolute rip off. Pizzas were a tenner so someone needs to reset the menu prices. May I suggest the Cowdray cafe, Midhurst, for value for money excellent food and friendly staff.

We popped to this cafe yesterday. The setting is lovely but the prices are just something else. I ordered a Greek salad for £7.50 which was the size of a small side salad with hardly any feta to be found. My partner had a wrap which for £10 was not what would be expected for that price. Wouldn’t come back. Felt completely ripped off. I was hungry by the time I got home!

Not as good as the previous location (in the village centre) - this 'al fresco' outside seating area is OK. the heating lamps mean it's not too cold, the seating is comfortable & the umbrellas keep the worst of the weather off, but it is outside. Limited menu, but what's there is good.

The café is in a really pleasant spot, in a courtyard garden under canopies - perfect in the May sunshine. The food is simple but fresh and well-prepared and tasty. Great for a light bite! The staff are very friendly and attentive too.

Passing through Petworth looking for late lunch we discovered the cafe ,set in very pleasant surroundings with easy parking , food and coffee were ok nothing to set the world on fire though, biggest downside was the prices, £9.95 for a toasted sandwich and £3.50 for a coffee is borderline Micky taking ,like other reviewers have said maybe your captive audience are ok with these prices

Really disappointing. We love the hungry guest deli, but this cafe just doesn’t work. The standard between the deli and the cafe are wildly different and seem like totally different brands. We ordered 3 breakfasts, all far too expensive for what they were/tasted like and 2 of the 3 orders were wrong. I had chorizo on my breakfast which I assumed would be fresh and cooked but it was packet chorizo cut up into strips. When we went to order, only our drinks order was taken and then the waiter left, and proceeded to take everyone else’s drinks and food order that came in after us. We then said 3 times we’d actually like to order food as well and then ended up eating after the tables that arrived after us. We love the hungry guest deli and we always accept the high prices of this as produce is fresh and service is great. But this cafe can’t be charging what it is with quality and service like this.A shame but maybe this will improve.
