Very local. I've been going here occasionally for 4 decades and it is a real pub.

The existing reviews and pictures do not do this lovely village pub justice! We stayed nearby and came for dinner on a Friday night with our dog. The service was superb and the food was so yummy and well priced. We had the lamb, fish & chips, and plaice with mash and greens, followed by ice cream and a crumble to share. Our dog was so welcomed and the resident dog, Chalky, is a real cutie. They stayed open very late for a village pub too - way past midnight! The building is beautiful. The owner and chef were chatty and friendly. My only regret is that we didn't get the chance to go back later this weekend for a roast!

Beautiful spot. Shame we couldn't stay longer but encumbered with offspring. Beer in top condition too. Super friendly bar staff. ??

This is a really nice olde worlde village pub and I dine here with my sister and brother in law every couple of months. Had a great meal last night. The food was excellent - my steak was succulent and the chips fabulous and the service was really good from the young and enthusiastic staff. Highly recommended.Dietary restrictions: Easily dealt with gluten free.

Popped in after a long walk one afternoon - ordered a couple of coffees as we were driving. Delicious, hot, no wait & nice cosy surroundings.

We have walked to this pub twice now from West Chiltington and had a impromptu lunch, once in the summer when we sat in garden and today a chilly November day but the fire was lit and like last time we were met with a smile and a welcome, so friendly and accommodating! The food is amazing so compliments to the chef - all in all a lovely pub well worth a visit! We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends to give it a try!

Had a really awesome Sunday Lunch today, the portion sizes are huge and can’t remember having such a spectacular Roast Beef lunch in a while, 9 different veg sides.. including a stunning cauliflower cheese and delicious braised red cabbage.. it was off the charts! The Beef was perfectly cooked, tender with a lovely blush. Everyone loved it. Thank you!

Lovely atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Our second visit in the last 6 months for Sunday lunch. Beautifully cooked and presented and very reasonably priced.Parking a bit hit and miss but we managed to park within a few minutes walk.Definitely coming again!

A relaxed Sunday afternoon and drinks with friends. Tomato soup tasted homemade from roasted tomatoes - very good flavour and plenty of bread. Fish with crunchy but not ouky) batter and chunky chips. Tartare sauce also tasted homemade.Staff friendly. Place full of character.Well-chosen selection of draught beer.
