Waited too long for the food when it didn't seem busy. The kids chicken what was meant to be bread crumbs came in soggy batter had to send it back it was inedible. I got the pie chips with seasonal veg but instead of veg it came with cold mushy peas, the food wasn't all that hot. My friend got the beef dinner she wasn't able to eat the beef too chewy but the rest was lovely. tbh really disappointed for some reason they can't get the food right there.

Visited the Malt shovel recently with husband on a Saturday evening for a meal and Karaoke/Music.Cozy atmosphere, bar staff friendlyFood was good, drinks average price.Great Karaoke night, good sound system, friendly DJ, shame it's only once a month.Adequate Seating inside and outside.Small car park at rear of pub, we couldn't get a space, so parked across the road on a car park behind the shops.Will visit again.

I've just had my Christmas dinner at The Malt, I knew the management team and staff were excellent, but today they went above and beyond my expectations. It was the first Christmas without Mum and two days before the 1st anniversary. I got up feeling lost and empty and they have more than contributed to making the day more than bearable. I'm Vegan, the food was good, (the soup and chocolate torte were yummy),the service and atmosphere was excellent and I cant thank them enough. Well done everyone you really made a difference today I was moved by your kindness and consideration x Ann

We had a pre Christmas meal here before the mad rush of the real one. The table we had was beautifully set and in prime position in front of the open fire. The Christmas meal was fabulous, we had a lovely time. The barman that served us was so efficient and friendly, I wish that I had asked his name, he is a massive asset to the pub.

Really nice traditional pub with raging fires. We've had lunch a couple of times, food is great value (it's a Kreen King Pub) and the staff are excellent. The pub is a great meeting point, with a great atmosphere. We are not from Baildon, but you can see it is a community hub.Previously I had the halloumi kabab, which didn't disappoint.This time the wife had corned beef pie, and I had the cheese and potato, for the price it's fantastic value, tasty to.

Great lunch. Crispy Chicken strips in a Louisiana-style coating with Texan-style BBQ sauce on a flat bread nan with salad & chips loads of chillies and lots of chips. Extra BBQ sauce. Really good.

Had the 3 course pensioners Xmas meal. The food was absolutely amazing the service was excellent. The singer who entertained was very good. All in all a brilliant experience first time I’ve eaten there but will definitely be going again. The staff went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. Well done first class service

Well if you don't leave this little gem with your Christmas spirits in full swing then I don't know where u would,what a place , amazing atmosphere from the moment we walked in ,warm roaring fires,and endless selection of drinks and cocktails, service was qwick so the drinks just kept flowing ,the karaoke was on and was honestly the best one I've been to ,just fantastic the place was jumping every up dancing and having fun young and old ,we will definitely be back ?

A great little pub in the middle of Baildon, very friendly staff and great food. Was a bit quiet when I visited which gave plenty of room to sit and chat with the staff who are very attentive and chatty. Ordered the cheese burger because I've heard good things from people who have it on Wednesday with the £5 deal. Great choice of drinks, had the guest ale Rev James which was pulled perfectly by James, the young man behind the bar. The food was served quickly and hot and tasted great too. Would definitely recommend to those in the town or those passing through for a quick drink and maybe a bite.

The Malt Shovel has always been one of my favorite pubs. The building has character with cosy fires and plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff are all very friendly and professional. They have recently changed the menu and there's a good selection of options for a competitive price. I particularly liked the two burgers for £5 each offer on Wednesdays. They also have a good offer on Sunday lunches and run a quiz on Wednesday evenings. All in all we have become regulars and enjoy our visits to The Malt Shovel, Baildon.
