Tried for first time tonight as my usual was not open! It cost £10 more for the same dishes and would not order again! Beef and chilli dish was drowned in a sweet chilli sauce, salt and pepper chips were tasteless, prawn crackers chewy, salt and pepper beef again tasteless! Disappointed to say the least

Absolutely awful, avoid at all costs - I called the restaurant to complain as I believe I was given a mixed pork and chicken sweet and sour dish because there were grey pieces and white pieces. Loads of sauce and full of fat. The restaurant said they couldn’t do anything and haven’t had complaints before but obviously that isn’t true due to the reviews I’ve now seen online.

Absolutely disappointed. Food came over 30 minutes late, ignored calls when trying to find out how long it would be. When it arrived it came with only a few items (granted we were refunded), but missed the main meals of the food. They said they called several times…we got nothing through apart from the call to say they were here.I literally have chicken and sauce for tea…great ?

Ordered the large salt and pepper Chinese box it was just a box of Grease none of us could eat any of it was not nice at all got 4 pieces of salt and pepper chicken 4 chicken balls loads of chips and other bits defiantly not worth the money.
Terrible customer support,ordered and got something else entirely.Called for correction and the rep was so rude and inconsiderate.Brought in food had a awful look landed in the trash.

Food was shocking, tasted like I was eating salt, greasy salt at that. Had green matter on the lid that wasn't part of my food, I wouldn't recommend this establishment

I really wanted Clayton House to be good as I live locally, but it is not. I’ve been twice, three weeks apart in the last month and was disappointed both times. First off they don’t take card payment so if you ignore these reviews at least take cash with you. As a family we’ve ordered the following, prawn toast and salt and pepper ribs which were ok. However, the chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken, and Chicken Kung Po were all substandard taste wise. Finally, the chips, forgotten from my order one time were also cold as they are decanted into a metal tray and left to sit out in the kitchen. I collected my order both times and was told when they should be ready, to arrive bang on time to then be kept waiting 10 to 15 minutes. All this said I’m mindful that the whole operation is run by a lady on her own, which is remarkable (hence two stars) but easy to understand why quality of service and product suffer as a result. Finally, if you don’t mind low quality food and poor service it is at least relatively cheap.

Just ordered from clayton house Chinese! It was absolutely amazing.. we ordered a chicken fried rice, special fried rice, salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips.. everything from the curry sauce to even the chicken in the chicken fried rice great.. we dont usually do reviews but felt we needed to with this one, it really is one of the best we've had, the lady on the phone was so helpful and the delivery driver was lovely too ?
