Booked a table but put in bar to eat as functions were on. Not happy as it’s very dog friendly in that area and I have allergies. Should have been told restaurant wasn’t available. Our friends arrived first and had a drink so felt we had to stay. Tables too low for eating and too many all squashed together and food poor quality for the prices charged. Posh fish finger sandwich which only had half a fish finger in one half of the ciabatta. Chips tasted of fat that needed changing. Husband had chicken burger he said same about his meal. Poor quality. Desserts okay. 2 functions on that night. Even at 10 o’clock kids all over the entrance and messing about in the toilets. No toilet paper. They need to decide whether they are a restaurant or function venue as both clearly doesn’t work.

Well, what can I say !It's an absolutely lovely place!From the min we walked in, we we're greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to a table.We had gone on a Sunday, as we wanted to try the Sunday carvery, and boy, we weren't disappointed!Absolutely beautiful crispy fresh Yorkshire puds.There were 3 roasts, turkey, beef, and roast ham, I went for the beef and ham, although you can have all 3.The veg was steaming hot, fresh, and plentiful. The roast potatoes were crispy and delicious.All in all, I can honestly say it's one of the best Sunday carverys I have had in a very long time.The deserts looked amazing, beautiful cheesecakes and lemon meringue in a glass chiller cabinet.I chose the hot sticky toffee pudding and custard.The only little niggle I had was the custard was nearly cold.We will definitely be returning.What a Gem of a place.The staff were all happy, friendly, smiling and helpful.5 stars ? ????

Coldest day of the year and they hadn’t lit any of the fires so a very uncomfortable frozen meal was had but all. Apparently their logs hadn’t been delivered. They had loads at tescos so they could have been and bought some more.

haven't been to the raggalds for over 35years so not a regular but called in without a booking to sample a Sunday roast . Shown straight to a table and drinks promptly arrived , service on point . With No waiting 2 Sunday dinners were quickly obtained and I must say the quality of the meats in particular ( beef.turkey.ham and pork) were cooked to perfection and ample portions too, not like your wafer thin slice at other national establishments. Would recommend to anyone and everyone,will have to go back to sample the standard menu now.

The food was okay, the atmosphere was great but the service was very poor. We were seated very quickly, waited 10 mins for drinks which was fine, after this we were waiting another 40 minutes to put our order in and only because I had to ask for this, they didn't know that we had not out our order in. We had to catch the servers to get another round of drinks there was no offering of this. We had kids with us and they were getting fed up of waiting which I'm not surprised, all in all we waited over an hour for food to come to table

Went last night for family Christmas night. It was the Christmas drag show, absolutely brilliant entertainment from start to finish. None stop laughing all night, good singers. Really funny, just a great night out. Music before, after and in the interval was just spot on, None stop party music.Food was very good.All the staff really friendly and helpful, in party spirits. Even the guy watching the door when I'd bought some drinks and had to leave one at bar, to go back for because I couldn't carry it. He brought it over for me.It was a much needed fun filled night, with loads of laughter.I should also say, we have had meals there before and always been good. Definitely recommend it.Thank you very much to everyone at the Raggalds. Happy Christmas to you allParking: Carpark is quite big, and good access to the building

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here.Staff were brilliant with a nice warm welcome.Food was exceptional.The best part was the atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves having a good natter and enjoying their meals.Would definitely recommend this place.Need to book as it was really busy but we'll organised.
Food is delicious. They are amazing at serving en masse and getting the food out quickly and still hot. Bar and serving staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Prices are quite expensive especially if there is an event on. Plenty of options for dietary requirements. Toilets are clean and tidy and plenty of them. Door staff are very pleasant. Miss Syren (Drag Queen ) is a great singer and very entertaining, her showgirls not so much. Old outdated jokes from the 1970's and very cringe worthy. Stick with Miss Syren and the DJ. Great choice of music. Needed to be able to dance more. One of the compares was very funny and friendly the other behind the booth was bolshy and never cracked a smile. All in all a great venue with good food but bin the showgirls and tell the other bloke to cheer up!

I have had a couple of bat meals here before which were very good. Booked the Miss Syren drag show with a group of friends. Had the best night out in years! Funny, entertaining. Food was amazing, great friendly & helpful staff. Fab venue. Recommend!

This is fairly local to us as we live in Denholme. Myself and husband got married after 32 years together and had a very small wedding as we are off to Cuba for a ceremony . We wanted to do something after the Halifax register office ceremony so thought afternoon tea would be perfect . I'll be honest and the first place I tried was Holdsworth house but as they already had a wedding that day they have a policy of only one bride on premises at a time . I wanted somewhere out of the way with nice photo opportunities however turned out wasn't much use as weather was awful .I messaged raggalds asking for info on afternoon tea ( price and if could do etc) I got a message back asking for me to call.I spoke to Richard the manager who was extremely helpful our party was of 7 adults 2 children and 2 infants . My friend also came but just for a quick coffee as she had plans already . I'd asked for 7 afternoon teas and 2 infant ones as the 2 children wouldn't eat afternoon tea . Richard agreed this and said £19,95 per afternoon tea and he's do infant ones at £5 each . I asked if the tea could be replaced with cappuccino and Pepsi instead as none of us as tea drinkers and 2 don't drink hot drinks . He said that was fine . ( infants would get fruit shoots )The extra drinks wereI lager2 lemonade1 cider1 orangeIn total my bill was £2207 afternoon tea = £1402 toddlers £10So why was I charged £70 for the above extra drinks ?Though we were overcharged the food was great and think they did way too much for 7 plus 2 infants I think there was some misunderstandings and they did moreI brought loads home .The staff were absolutely fantastic. Couldn't fault them at all.We will be back possibly on Wednesday ( before we fly to Cuba for our Cuban wedding ceremony/ honeymoon on Thursday)
