Great pub...... superb food..... and top top quality service.......And the icing on the cake was being able to order in advance while I was over 100 miles away on the M1 ... they kept it piping hot even though they had already closed the kitchen...... can't praise them enough for that

We called in for lunch on Thursday. The lady who served us was very friendly and the pub had a warm cosy atmosphere. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. I had steak pie with chips and seasonal vegetables which was absolutely delicious. I don't normally eat cabbage as I don't like it, but the cabbage in this dish was the best I have ever tasted and I ate it all!! A really lovely visit and I hope to return again soon.

Booked a table by phone last Saturday for a meal at 1800hrs. Arrived a good 30 mins early, found it strange that no one was eating. When we told the girl serving we had a table booked she said they weren't doing food?We said we had called around 1400hrs to book a table, she said there's nothing in the book and we aren't doing food!So why take the booking in the first place, no apology or explanation and a complete waste of taxi fare.One drink and gone, never to return, appalling service, miserable people and extremely dull pub.

Absolutely lovely food we had a pie from the menu best pie we have ever had in a pub. The chef is a more mature guy who knows his stuff, all homemade .we had soup to start with which was gorgeous and full of chicken .we were so full when we came away.definitely going again .

Found this gem whilst passing through Hunsworth Nr. Cleckheaton.Good traditional British grub, prepared and cooked to a high standard.Very friendly staff and a great oldie /worldly feel to the place.Guessing the age of the inn, but I reckon 2 to 300 years old.

We've eaten here on many occasion and would highly recommend it to anyone. The staff are great and make you feel very welcome as does the Landlord. The food not only tastes fantastic but it's very reasonably priced too. Also the menu isn't ridiculously big like alot of places. Icing on the cake is they do a lovely pint. It's got a lovely outside area too which is great in better weather. One of our favorite places to go, definitely give it a try?

We visited this pub for the first time on New Years Day the pub is lovely and comfortable the staff are attentive but the beef dinner is to die for as were the other meals.Hats off to the chef who came out to ask if all was ok.We will be going again SOON.?

My wife and I enjoy walking and our favourite spot to stop for lunch is here. Prices good value - quality of food very good - staff attentive - speed of service - just right. Nothing more needed for me to recommend this pub.
