Called for lunch. It was early so pub was faily quiet. Warm greeting from the staff. Nice surroundings. Ordered soup which was hot and very tasty with a bread roll. Main meal I had chicken and ham pie with fresh vegetables. Lovely meal and well presented. Would highly

Went for Mother's Day lunch today. Staff all very pleasant but service very slow. Orders completely wrong when they finally came. Food was only warm, we had to ask for hot gravy to try & warm food up. The actual place was cold & not very comfortable to be kept waiting so long. Overall disappointed as we had been looking forward to a visit.

Good food and great beer in a friendly, cosy pub. With the cost of living crisis the range of real ale and food has diminished as it has in many places but the quality hasn't.Update: The range of food and ale is now back to normal, well worth a visit.

Usually the food and service here is great, but unfortunately today it wasn't up to standard. The positives are that the staff are friendly, the prices are quite cheap and there's a nice selection of real ale at the bar. The negatives are that when we sat down for our meal and looked over a menu, we were told there would be a wait as there was a large party - perfectly fine - but then when our order was finally taken the server told us that there were no giant Yorkshire puddings, no pies, no liver, etc etc etc basically 80% of the menu wasn't available. I wish they had told us before we'd spent 20mins deciding what we were having. The food itself was not great, my regular sized Yorkshire puddings were partially burnt, the veg was over cooked. It's a shame as I had high hopes for food here on a Sunday tea time. I know that the menu issues aren't the fault of the staff, it's probably issues with supply and demand etc but it still isn't great. I'll edit my review when I go back next and hopefully have a better experience.

I came here with three other friends to watch the football as our normal Sunday haunt closed down during Christmas normally there can be six or seven of us the room located in an outside room you had to exit the pub past their smoking shelter to get to this room which in my opinion is in need of some decent tables and chairs not the upturned beer barrels with a top the seats were either old bar stools or plastic stools there was a small bar but only selling cider or lager if you want a traditional ale it was a trip into the main bar not really ideal plus going up two or three steps to get back if the management had a bit of foresight and made changes I’m sure we would come back looks like gomersal cricket club next week

Good range of beers and lagers, food is top notch (big portions as well) and they take dogs in the bar area. Chatty bar staff. What's not to like.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday, we had booked in 5 of us when we arrived our table was not even set up. The food was shocking the meat was so tough none of us could cut it, veg was also hard. Asked for more gravy which we never got we will definitely not be returning. We took the beef home for the dogs.
