Visited the Rose and Crown on Sunday, exceptional service from all the staff, nothing too much trouble for the lovely Ocean. The food was excellent, one of the best roast dinners I've had in a long time. We'll definitely be back ?

I have been going to the Rose and Crown for the past 15to 20 years and the food has always been Excellent, I was there is October2023 Excellent , then again on the 20th March 2024 !!!! What a difference !! I had the Gamon and chips and eggs and peas! the gamon was dry the chips were burnt and eggs looked liked they had been under a steam roller and black round the edges ! my guests also suffered similar experiences plus we waited 1hour to be served ! I was very sorry for the very young girl who was trying to serve behind the bar take food orders and then serve them it appears to all run by teenages it really needs a good captain !! I really like going to this pub so I hope for a bettter evening the NEXT TIME ????? Always a second chance ?

Lovely warm welcome. Quiet for a Saturday apart from a few locals. Food was top notch and very fairly priced.Vegetarian options: Wife had the vegetarian lasagne. A good size portion with a healthy side of home cooked chips!

Would have loved to have been able to give a higher score based on:My husband ordered garlic mushrooms for a starter, he said they were fab.He then ordered the crown burger, this he said was delicious, the burger was cooked as requested well done. The fries were home made and delicious, he was disappointed with the factory bought slaw, the meal would have been spot on with a homemade slaw.All good so farBut…I asked the waitress to give me a good 5 minutes heads up before my main meal was going to be served. I explained I’m a type 1 diabetic and it’s imperative my insulin is given approx 15 mins before my food. The friendly waitress said no problem.I then asked if the vegetable lasagne had mushrooms in it and was told NO.I detest mushrooms and cannot digest them.Firstly my food arrived at the table with no warning at all so I had to quickly inject myself at the table much to the curiosity of other diners. I then began to eat my meal to discover it was full of mushrooms. I had no choice now but to eat the food as I’ve now had my insulin. If the food had been returned to the kitchen this could have resulted in a very nasty hyper attack which may have needed hospital attention.Type 1 diabetes is a very serious auto immune condition that should be taken seriously by restaurants.When the waitress returned to clear the plates my husband told her the food was full of mushrooms and what if I had been allergic to them?She came back a few minutes later and apologised explaining the chef is new and he has changed the recipe without informing the staff, my husband explained how serious this could have been and advised any good chef should have made staff aware of any ingredient changes.The waitress did offer me a free drink which I declined.Would I return… my husband said he would like to book again to give you another chance.

Lovely welcome but that’s where it ends. Promised a table… one came free and the staff said it was taken, but they would call us when one came free. Another came free and still we weren’t seated. When the third one came free, we supped up and moved on. Very poor customer service after a promising start.

Booked here for our evening meal and I can honestly say it was delicious with a lovely welcoming ambience my partner had lasagne my son fish and chips and myself the gammon, we all ate everything if we could we would eat here everyday honest homemade food 100% recommend this place ?

First time we have been to this pub...what a lovely pub, such a lovely welcome from the landlord, you feel right at home soon as you walk in,we have a static caravan in Bridlington and had been recommended by friends to try the Rose and Crown and we definitely wernt disappointed fantastic pub, great atmosphere,lovely staff,and the food was homemade and absolutely delicious we will certainly be going back soon ...Thank you for making us feel so welcome
