Went to Harvey's for afternoon tea with my husband today. Lovely staff, good layout of store and an amazing afternoon tea! Beautiful finger sandwiches, scones and cake. Good price and cosy restaurant.

Thoroughly enjoyed several hours browsing the store. Will definitely be visiting and shopping again. Was warm, lovely selection of pop music being played, assistants almost melting into the background. However the restaurant let it all down. We ordered fish and chips, almost £10 a meal. Mushy peas we're very runny. Chips are frozen not fresh made. Not sure what fish it was but didn't taste of much. The batter was like cardboard and raw inside. The manager did provide us with another fish and chips meal after we complained but in all honesty it still wasn't cooked thro. Was also quite greasy. If we do venture in for food again we'll probably just order a panini. Staff all very nice tho. Has a good reputation generally so could be a purchasing mistake?

I was invited to attend this prestigious event. The first since 2018. Val presented the show with a friendly and informative manner. The models were a treat to watch. No one would know that these ladies were not professionals. The shoes and boots were displayed with style and humour and a glass of fizz and goody bag completed the event.

Having been a visitor of Harvey’s cafe for many years it is regrettable that I’m having to write this review. I took my friend for lunch last week and he decided upon the fish and chips very disappointed with the obviously frozen fish and poor amount of chips with some frozen carrots on the side, however decided to give it another try today with same elderly friend who ordered the roast beef dinner, much to our disappointment it was a total letdown the beef was as tough as old boots the roast potatoes were deep fried and as for the Yorkshire pudding well it left a lot to be desired that’s not mentioning the same frozen carrots and peas why not fresh veg Harvey’s at the price charged £10:50 not worth the money, come on Harvey’s I know you can do better.

It is a beautiful store .Displays are excellent ....a clean, colourful store ,the best for miles around. Quality goods to meet all tastes and budgets . Thankyou ,the Harvey family , for providing the town with a beautiful department store we can be proud of .A great example of business acumen which really stands out in these difficult times. I remember Ian Harvey, who was always pleasant and smiley .Also ,the cafe which was very like Betty's in style and quality . Table service and staff in black and white outfits . The family have done so well to provide such a beautiful store .Mr . Ian Harvey would have been so proud of you all . Toilets are spotless ,too! Kate Cullen

This cafe restaurant is in an independent Department Store that still manages to trade, despite all the commercial pressures. We found the serving arrangements a little confusing when entering, but food and drinks are ordered and paid for at a servery, and where necessary the food is served at your table. The menu has a good range that should suit most choices and much of the menu content is locally sourced. The quality and portion size provide very good value for money. The cafe restaurant is light and airy with a relaxed atmosphere.

I don’t often review ‘store’ coffee venues but, as we have been going here for a number of years and they have recently refurbished, I thought it worth a review. The teas, coffees, hot chocolates are all excellent and the range of snacks and pastries are freshly cooked or prepared. Its a tranquil place to relax and enjoy a cuppa and the new decor is lovely. The staff are always obliging and cheerful. It also helps that it is situated in the BEST Department Store for miles....we will keep returning to this lovely cafe

Roast dinner was generous with the beef, but the veg was abysmal ! Peas and carrots is hardly the stuff to serve in what used to be a lovely restaurant.Needs a chef with imagination. Second visit I had fish and chips ! Clearly frozen battered fish with nice chips but once again peas. Nice setting but very much like an expensive transport cafe !.

Ok place to stop for a cup of coffee, nice surroundings, nice coffee, nice cakes. Staff very slow, if you pay for 2 hours parking in Halifax you can use up half of that having your coffee, would have 5 stars if only the staff were a bit faster.

We’ve been coming to Harveys for many years and it’s unique. While most department stores are closing Harvey’s bucks the trend. We had a lovely brunch of eggs Benedict and was thoroughly delicious. The cafe has had a relatively recent refurb and looks better than ever. Keep up the good work!
