Had a lovely evening meal today ... definitely worth the visit. ..served by Lucy who was exceptional with table service.
I'm looking forward to revisiting.

We had such a lovely night tonight at Sapore. The food and service was excellent and we all felt no obligation to leave a tip but we did! The staff were very smart and polite and thoroughly deserved to be recognised. The food was lush! Didnt wait long to be served and came out hot!!!
Very reasonably priced too.
Would say that it was very loud at times but that wasnt the restaurants fault. It was other diners who thought it was ok to be loud and raucous while other people were out enjoying a meal!
Well worth a visit and we will be back. Thank u for a fabulous evening.

What an absolute gem of a place! Every dish was amazing, we went for a date night and the place had a great atmosphere and really knowledgeable, friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back

We dined here for the first time, and it won't be the last! The staff are lovely and friendly, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend giving this place a try if you enjoy fabulous Italian cuisine.

KAYA’S GRILL:TURKISH RESTAURANT

We had a beautiful meal at Kaya's Grill this evening, 4 adults and our young grandson and we all loved it, the food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. We have been wanting to try Kaya's for a while now and we will certainly be back.

Beautiful restaurant with what looked to be stunning views little bit dark out to make the most of it. Food was lovely and staff were friendly and welcoming too & were good at recommending from the menu, lots to choose from and seemed to be something for everyone. The carrot cake was Devine!!

I come here regularly for a drink and place to catch up on emails etc. The staff are lovely and really relaxing atmosphere. I tried the food for the first time recently and it was soooo nice!! I would highly recommend ?

Absolutely stunning food and cocktails at very reasonable prices.Staff very knowledgeable and aware of coeliac requirements, and lots of options for gluten free.Only very minor negative was a bit of a cold draft when the door was opened!Dietary restrictions: Very good gluten free options, staff very knowledgeable.

Elland Craft & Tap Micropub

Lovely friendly pub full of regular characters, even though we were 'outsiders' from the big smoke (York) we were welcomed like locals. We'll definitely be back (maybe at Christmas ?).

Cafe Italia

The food was lovely and atmosphere and service was spot on, but when you are spending £340 on a family meal you would normally expect the round of limoncello drinks would be on the house as they are in most Italian

Yates - Halifax

I recently visited Yates in Halifax, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming rustic decor that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of.

Upper George

Great little gem of a pub very old school pub feel wich is great. Great selection of drinks and music and has the georgefest each year wich is great atmosphere.

Thai Style

I really do think this is as good as Thai food gets - and I have tried hundreds of Thai restaurants. Having never been to Thailand myself I am reliably informed by people that have been that this is perfectly authentic. Added bonus that all the staff are absolutely lovely

Staff were very nice, was willing to have a nice chat. I didn’t get names but the staff around 5pm Saturday 6th July, were generally very nice. The Boar Burger was delicious and my Grandma really enjoyed her pulled pork burger. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Dietary restrictions: The staff, once we brought up things we didn’t like, asked us if it was an allergy. We informed it wasn’t but we didn’t want those in our food. I can confirm the ingredients we asked to remove were removed but I did find a spec of lettuce on the bottom bun of my burger but it was easy to remove. I didn’t expect complete isolation of assembly areas.

Parking: You’d need to park on the street in town and walk.

The Maypole Inn

Absolutely amazing food, amazing service!
We came for a surprise 40th birthday, the staff were so attentive they helped set up all the balloons and decorations. Chris and all the staff were so friendly and accommodating they couldn’t do enough for us, would highly recommend the Maypole.
Food was delicious and such amazing value for money! Thank you so much for everything!

Plummet Line Hotel

Really don't know what to say that I haven't said before but with Adrian & Mark you always get what you don't pay for ( hint to other DJCrews, were living through a Cost of Living crisis & if not actually personal many of us are supporting out kids through it !! Cheers guys :-)) )
So the sun's out, muttleys napping and had a brilliant Weds afternoon with the Halifax Soul Crew as expected. They always pull a brilliant crowd & the music gets better time after time, perhaps some older tunes this time?? But it's what I grew up loving so enough said & no way am I talking about my bloody great age here ? for anyone so do not ask !!!!
Sorry, the gig !! Fabulous music, excellent crowd and packed to the gills with truly lovely people. I was told about one I knew nothing about so will be checking that out and we'll see.
Now, who's seen our DJs in an actual pose ?? Bet not many but I somehow managed to persuade them ? and.......they still both look the ? knee's ⚡ ? Perhaps they felt like it was Benidorm !! Take good care of yourselves and my score?? An very easy 17/10. Now, who's going to get a massive 20/10 ??? I've a feeling I know who might but time will tell, take care all & keep those dance floors full ?!! Xx

Sunday 30th June Northern & ⚽
Sadly an easy winner today was the ⚽ but hey ho that's life & it was a pretty nail-biting match as the crowd was ooooh aaahh'ing at regular intervals!! A huge shout went up when there was I think either a goal or near miss not sure which as I was too busy on the dancefloor :-)) A guest DJ from the other side (aka dark side) of the Pennines played an excellent set & Mark and Adrian were on top form as usual. A fantastic mix of old school & more modern but we'd a mix of old Motown & early classic Northern & talk about happy bunny with a virtually empty dancefloor until a few had had enough of the big screens and joined in, again all brilliant dancers & ex Wigan Casino people so a nice bit of reminiscing went on in & amongst so massive thanks to all concerned perhaps try not to clash with the ⚽ again!! 18 /20 & very well deserved, cheers guys and a big ?? to all concerned xx

I had a lovely experience here. The staff were attentive, food delicious, and the atmosphere suited me fine (it was quiet).
[update 1] two years later and it's still excellent. Best not wait another two years.

The Prospect

Today I took my nan for afternoon tea at The Prospect. She lives near by and we had seen a Groupon offer and some good reviews. What we actually got far surpassed our expectations.

I had communicated before hand online and found the communication excellent and prompt. We arrived at 1pm for our booking and was greeted by a very friendly lady ( who later we found to be the owners daughter) she told us to pick a table we would like and came straight away with tea and coffee. She was ever so friendly, and When our afternoon tea arrived it was huge and  could have fed 4!

The cakes and scones were lovely and a great choice but the sandwiches!! Wow what a selection. We were offered more tea and coffee throughout our visit and it was nice to see the place looking so clean and tidy. It was warm and welcoming and the owners really are making the best effort to attract customers.

Others around us were eating off the regular menu and it looked gorgeous! We can't wait to to back to have a meal. It was a bargain with the Groupon offer but would have been still value for money without it. I almost didn't want to use it because I felt they deserved every penny.

We will be back to try the rest of the menu very soon. ( ps don't let the roadworks put you off! There is access in boothtown near range bank which we found better to use actually)

VIADUCT • PUB & KITCHEN

We attended the wine tasting evening, what a great night. We weren't sure what to expect but got to say there was plenty of tasting , no short measures. Lovely guy hosting and very chatty. Atmosphere was great and the sharing plate was very appreciated however we expected a little more food. Anyway didn't spoil the evening and the landlady was on the table next to us unbeknown ? Thanks for the Rose! we loved it that much we had 2 more bottles ?

Kings Burgers and Pizzas

The Murg

We went at lunchtime with only 2 other people eating at the same time, it was very quiet but the service was surprisingly very slow indeed. We waited half an hour for the starter and when my main meal eventually came the string chips were missing. The food was lovely but the wait was far too long.

Fizzy's Deli and Desserts

I went into.tjis shop quite randomly simply as I was passing and reminiscing to my friend about the years I.lived in the area and that my daughter had been at the local school for all her infant and junior years so some very happy memories of the area.
I spent around £15 and came out with 3 samosas, a huge freshly cut salad, raita dip and a huge bag of sweets for the kids for Easter gifts instead of more eggs .The really naught bit was a slice of cheesecake and that was delicious ? as was the rest of the meal so the gentleman I met on the shop has got it soooo right as a small business owner/ worker. The food was excellent and extremely fair pricing. There's a really good choice of everything they sell and they also deliver through Just Food so they'll be my go to when I fancy a similar meal .
Thanks for a delicious meal, loads of in shop choices and really fair prices:-)))

Vegetarian options: I had veg samosas with a side salad but there's plenty of salad for 2 meals but was freshly cut while I was there.

Parking: We arrived around 8pm with bitter weather. This shops in a busy residence area but at this time there's plenty of on street parking but could be harder to find in bitter weather.

The Sun Inn at Lightcliffe

Visited on a Sunday to have tea with my partner, daughter and her partner,
Food was delicious service was excellent and we stayed to watch end of England match.. a most enjoyable evening.. will visit again

Pizza Hut

The kids would have given it 10 stars if they could! Sam was lovely and very attentive, and didn’t seem to stop all the time we were in there! Made the experience all the better!

Water Mill Brewers Fayre

Dined here twice while staying at the hotel next door for breakfast and dinner both were lovely experiences the hill from hotel to restaurant is a little steep but the hotel help if needed overall excellent experience overall will definitely return on my next stay at the hotel

Parking: Great location for hotel and free parking at the hotel next door

Kid-friendliness: Outside play is always open from 12 I believe

Sportsmans Inn

It doesn't look fancy, but there's a lot of heart here. The first thing that strikes you is the attentive and friendly service, all regular guests are greeted by their first name and are served exactly what they want, no questions asked. The food is hearty and tasty and the portions large. Can only recommend a visit to the Sportsmans Inn to anyone who is in these parts.

White Horse Inn

Just had a really nice family Sunday lunch. Roast, Home made Steak and Ale pie, liver onions. All the veg was cooked perfectly. Yorkshires spot on. Gravy was lush.
Followed by. Jam roly poly and custard. Treacle sponge and cream. ?
Could not fault it. Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Will deffo be back soon.

The Stump Cross Inn

We came to Halifax for the weekend & found this little gem, we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff, we didn't book, but they seated us with no problems. I went for the special, which was a Jerk Chicken Burger, this was delicious! My partner asked to make substitutes to the lasagna sides from chips & salad to mash and veg, which they changed with no issues. Lovely pub, would definitely return.

Food and drinks: Food was delicious and reasonably priced.

The Causeway Foot

Called in today after Ogden water walk with our cat nutmeg was found a table by the lovely waiting staff and enjoyed 2sunday roasts with puddings nutmeg will be back

Lovely meal out with family. Very cosy and welcoming place, staff were all lovely. Food quality was great (really enjoyed the sausage and mash) and will definitely come back

Who knew they had an upstairs? I've lived in the area all my life, and I didn't. The hot chocolate was lovely, the chocolate covered flapjack moorish and the service friendly.

The Village Pantry

We recently used the Village Pantry to prepare the food for a funeral (at another location).Their service was excellent - they prepared a wide range of sandwiches and cakes, which were set out on trays with lids so we just needed to remove the lids and everything was ready to go.The communications were great and the quality of the food was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

Nando's Halifax

OMG the staff are so nice - friendly, welcoming, and kind. Really enjoyed our meal.

Cafe Passion

Absolutely love it here. It's usually quiet so don't need to book. The food is amazing, everything we've tried over the last couple of years has always blown us away. If I'm Halifax for food it's a must visit.

Casa Pizza

Pleasntly surprised with the food we collected. Restaurant quality for takeaway prices, some slightly different things available conpared to your usual takeaway menu and were happy to make changes to menu items around our fussy eaters. Highly recommended.

Indulge Grill

I had a very good experience at Indulge Grill, a local takeaway in Kings Cross, Halifax that offers a variety of delicious dishes. I ordered the grilled chicken with rice, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned with herbs and spices. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the rice was fluffy and aromatic. The portion size was generous and satisfying, and the presentation was appealing.The service was excellent, as the staff were friendly and attentive. They took my order quickly and delivered it in a timely manner. The place was clean and with a warm and inviting atmosphere.I would highly recommend Indulge Grill to anyone who is looking for a tasty and affordable meal in Halifax. It is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition and appreciation. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu items and enjoy their hospitality for sure!

Dario's Pizza

Got two amazing pizzas. Deep pan was filled to the brim and thin and crispy was exactly that. Best pizza I have had in a long time. The staff was really lovely too. Would definitely recommend trying Dario's.

First time trying the food in Frangoz . Wasn't disappointed as all . I was told good things about the chicken parmasan & I wasn't disappointed ?
It was just a quick stop. My 3 year old loved his kids' meal popcorn chicken! decent portion lodes left over & my Partner chicken stir fry rice combo with salad . Will defo be going again!

Love McDonald's and this place seems to have improved since the refurbishment. Nice, friendly staff, a lady called Karen has been particularly helpful on a few occasions recently. It's not got loads of seating but has been quicker and more consistent lately.

KFC Halifax - Haley Hill

Busy place to visit on a Friday evening. Food was hot and tasty. Staff friendly. Trying to maneuver around parked cars when drive through is busy can be challenging

THE THREE PIGEONS ALE HOUSE

Wow! What lovely interiors? This is an amazing pub, possibly among my uk favourites. Good ales and good service. I’d like to return when the fireplaces are lit.

Beautiful fish and chips, all gluten free, I'm not but my wife is. I couldn't tell the difference. Cooked to perfection. Sometimes when you go elsewhere they repeat on you for a while but these don't. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

The Royal Oak

Went to my sons 21st Birthday party in the room at the top of the pub. Absolitely brilliant room to use has 2 poole tables and is very spacious and roomy. The staff are very down to earth, friendly and helpful.

Westvale Fisheries

Cannot recommend this place highly enough! The best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Timely service, lovely staff and a top quality meal. Everything cooked fresh and the fish clearly of the highest quality!

It's a nice place on a sunny day for outside seating , as the sun is bright above you. Good prices and dog friendly. TV is always on if you like that sort of thing.

Brackenbed Fisheries

Fish and chips are always on point. Friendly staff and reliable business.Parking: There is parking to the side of the building and a small patch of gravel to the right side of the building.

Dhesi Karahi Grill

Authentic Desi Dhaba flavour food in Halifax. Nice staff, they also customise the food as per the need. Highly Recommended !!

The Old Bakehouse

I visited with my daughter and grandchildren, who live in Halifax and have eaten here before. We all chose breakfast dishes. I had the small breakfast, which was very nice, and came with toast. There is a shop area and cafe area, we had to wait a while for our meal, staff apologised for the wait but we could see how busy it was.

Your Secret Gourmet

What a gem !!! Almost hidden amongst the industrial units from bye-gone times, set amongst the cobbles, and a much welcome sight just off the canal towpath. Breakfast was fabulously tasty, quite literally a plentiful plate of well cooked English grub! I had the vegetarian full English, three tasty veggie sausages, tinned ‘sloppy’ tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, egg and toast all piping hot served with a proper mug of tea! Hubby had the traditional full English breakfast with a flat white coffee and commented on the absolute value for money it was, best ever he said! I have to agree! Staff were so lovely, attentive but not intrusive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Total bill was just under £20, we’d have paid more!

The Old Brandy Wine

A very friendly place. It's my local so I know a lot who go in there, but it's on the canal so we do get one time visitors and they're always made to feel welcome. It's also dog friendly.

Shoulder Of Mutton

We visited last night for dinner, the food was delicious ? all homemade and it came out piping hot! I had the veggie supreme pizza (without cheese) even the pizza base was homemade, as were the chips. My partner had the large yorkie with beef, mash & peas. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

The Fountain Head Inn

First time I've been here for years.Pleasant, warm atmosphere.Drank John Smiths and Theakston beer which was of a good standard and cheaper than other pubs.I understand that this is now a community run pub and that improvements to facilities are planned and under way.Good luck to all concerned, I will be visiting again.
