Second visit. In the area and chanced that they could fit us in. We were in luck because it soon filled up. Outstanding Sunday roast and unbelievable value. 30 quid for 3 courses and well worth it. Salmon and smoked cheese mille-fueille starter is unreal. The Mrs had the veggie mushroom Wellington and it was packed with flavour. Will definitely be returning.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the great dining experience I had at your Brazilian restaurant last Saturday (Lunch).The hospitality & the food quality definitely matched my expectations, specially the authentic Brazilian feijoada.I was also impressed by the exceptional level of customer attention I received from the 2 meat carving serving waiters.Vanerão & his other friend were attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of fantastic.I look forward to returning soon for the evening dinner.

Just got back from a fantastic night/meal for my 40th. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Brilliant with our children, especially our autistic son who struggles in these sorts of environments and he had a brilliant time with all the staff especially one waiter who was amazing with him. the food was gorgeous and can't wait to bring my family again. thank you gios xxxxx

Booked a table for 5 of us last minute for a Sunday afternoon roast at beginning of September while staying in a cottage locally. Probably one of the best roasts ever. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables which were a good selection. The roasties were delicious as was the separate cauliflower cheese. The others all had the Yorkshire pudding wraps which were huge and filled with the delicious beef and two had gammon. We also ordered a doggy Sunday dinner and this came with lots of lovely meat and all the trimmings in the delicious gravy! We forgot to take pics of our meals just the dogs! Service was faultless from start to finish with great staff and beautiful views from our table too. Hopefully will visit Yorkshire and the area again soon and wouldn’t hesitate visiting The Winterburn again. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely place, absolutely beautiful venue and groundsRooms were nice but nothing special, great beds, but low ceiling (sloping roof) had to open the window so i didn't hit my head.Most of the staff were fantastic, polite, friendly and happy to help, a certain one with a little authority did not fit the standards set by their underlings.All in all, great place for a wedding party :)

I DJed in this venue for a hen party in the Museum function room upstairs - I arrived early enough to check out this impressive location.Out of the way and off the beaten track, it is a gem to be discovered and chanced upon but I imagine that, once found, you would return again and again to bask in its warm, intimate atmosphere. The classic Victorian build has been incredibly well maintained (meaning, the doorways may not be easy to clear for the taller patron!) and the surrounding grounds are equally striking.

This is what I said two weeks ago...Excellent visit to the Sportsman last night. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was excellent with hearty potions and all at a fair price. We had a fantastic meal here on Saturday evening. The food was delicious and good portion sizes. Complimentary bread, olives and pickles were a lovely gesture. The atmosphere was really nice with traditional music playing. The waitress was very pleasant, although could have been a little more attentive to empty glasses etc. The prices were very reasonable and definitely worth the money. It was such a shame there wasnt more people there. I really hope this place doesnt close due to low attendance. We will be back again in the near future 100% with friends.

My wife and I visited today for the first time, pies ordered were beef and mushroom and chicken, chorizo and bacon. Happy to say that they were both the best pub pies we had ever eaten, along with superb hand cut chips, tender garden peas and a jug of gravy. The food was complimented with craft beer. I would not hesitate in recommending The Wainhouse Tavern and would return again when in the area.

I haven't been in the rooms so can't rate them. The location, of course, can't be faulted. It's beautiful around here. Outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. It's a bit squeaky clean for my tastes but that hardly qualifies as a criticism. The staff are friendly and - the best point, for me at least - is that they serve a perfect pint of Timothy Taylor Boltmaker. One of the most satisfying pints I've ever enjoyed. Nice Malty tones and far from being overhopped, which seems to be the fashion now, unfortunately for my pallette and, I suspect, old geezers like myself. (Go Freedom Pass Boys!)So, yes, a quiet pub with good service and a 5 star ale. I shall review the food when I eat something there!

Called here early this Saturday lunchtime after looking on Google.Proper solid quality tasty fish, big white flakes, cooked perfectly, excellent well drained batter. Along with really tasty chips. The delicious curry is rumoured to be made by Leprechauns.The two young ladies serving, one I presume the owner, one a new employee, both were friendly with time to talk to you and they both made this a five star experience.Highly recommended.
