Great pub in a lovely village. My wife and I have always been made to feel welcome in this pub and the staff have always been great, they also serve Erdinger non-alcoholic which is my preferred choice when driving. Each time we have eaten here the food has been excellent as well. It is our default pub when in the area, highly recommended.

Nice old pub, with a small suntrap of a garden. And the food menu looks good (especially compared with the local competition!).

Outstanding food, made to order and fresh. Great beer garden that cuts the breeze and great selection of beers. Recommended!

The Sunday roast, surpassed any I have tasted in years! Moist roast pork with crispy crackling, real well cooked roast potatoes and piping hot Al dente vegetables ?! Delicious! My friend was equally impressed by the fresh fish. Andrew provided great service and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit!Vegetarian options: Nut roast and various vegan and vegetarian foods available.Kid-friendliness: Children at other tables were made welcome and there were child options on the menu.

Wonderful little pub. Food was excellent. Clearly a proper chef in the kitchen.

A great pub. The service was great from the bar staff. The food was good too. A great watering hole in one of the prettiest Yorkshire towns.

A party of seven from London took refuge here after a failed attempt to get Eurovision accommodation and tickets forced a change of plan and a stay in Hebden Bridge. We asked out Airbnb host for recommendations of local places hosting a Eurovision watch party and she suggested the White Swan. We booked by phone on the Thursday, sorted out our menu options on the Friday and were warmly welcomed on the Saturday. The food and ambience was excellent - it was very cosy, but everyone got into the spirit and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful - especially when it was time to leave and we needed a cab - it is a VERY steep hill between Hebden and Heptonstall. The White Lion is a lovely, traditional pub with two rooms, a nice little beer garden, a good selection of drinks and food and a friendly team. It is well worth a visit if you are in the area. I am sure the views are probably stunning too, but we went up there in the evening so I can't comment!

We had a really lovely meal here Saturday night. Warm and cosy. Great food, average prices. Happy there was a plant burger option! Very nice too! Will definitely return.

This is a delightful place! Quirky and special with a fire and charming hosts and poetry by Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath on the walls. We both had philly steak paninis for a quick snack, which were tender and delicious. I ordered the chunky chips which were the best chips I've had in a very long time. Salad was also super fresh and delightful. I'll definitely be back!
