Towngate Tearoom is one of a handful of Yorkshire tearooms people should visit. The food is sourced locally and made fresh to your order. The homemade coleslaw is great with salads and I personally had a amazing festive toasted sandwich with the delicious home made beetroot and Ginger soup. The desserts are all amazing but my favorite is the Ginger cheesecake I have never tasted a cheese cake as good.Great service friendly staff and the cleanest tearoom toilet facility in West Yorkshire

We took some friends here yesterday, who were visiting from Kansas, and all 6 of us had a totally delicious lunch of soups and cheese toasties and then cakes. I would pay good money for their cake recipes!! The owners were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend calling in here for lunch or even just cake.

Lovely tea shop in Heptonstall. Weather was sunny and warm so we were able to sit at the tables outside. Had Yorkshire Curd tart ,obviously, coffee and walnut cake and two lovely big cups of tea. Friendly staff, beautiful setting.

We’ve visited several times since the new owners launched and it’s always a delight. In fact, we often make the 45min trip from Halifax just to have lunch or breakfast here. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is top-notch. They prepare everything fresh and it’s clear they take pride in their offerings. The menu is diverse, catering to all dietary needs and the cake options are a real treat – especially the stem ginger cheesecake. It might not sound fancy, but it’s genuinely special and I highly recommend it. I know I’m singing their praises highly here, but when somewhere gets it right, I believe in giving them a shoutout. Dining out should be a treat, and it’s so frustrating when it falls short, so when a place goes above and beyond, I don’t mind taking 5 minutes to write them a positive review (and hopefully also ensure my ginger cheesecake fix is available for as long as possible!) I’ll definitely be back soon. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
