Popped in here for a quick evening meal after a long day on the road. Service was great and food served very quickly. Really enjoyed the food which turned out to be one of the cheapest meals we'd had in a long time. Holmfirth is full of trendy looking eateries with quite high prices. Shimlas probably doesn't fit into this category but I'd much rather eat here.

After ordering here for the last 4 years was very disappointed to have received a lamb bhuna with only 5 very small mouthfuls of meat included. Hoping this is a mistake and not them cutting back. Now we have a reason to try another curry house.

Such a good restaurant. Nice decor and staff were great. Glad I booked because one of waiters said they were fully booked & it got busy quite fast. Couldn’t fault anything. Chicken wings & bhagis to start, very nice. Lamb Agan Jali bright to the table & flambé with brandy,very fancy but so tasty the meat was so soft. King prawn Deshi totally different but really flavourful & not stingy with the prawns. If we’re ever in Holmfirth again we will definitely be back 4 popadoms & pickle tray, 2 starters 2 mains a rice & a naan with 2 bottles of good wine roughly £85. Bargain. Well done guys

After a pretty stressful journey, we went into Shimla, we'd read online about it and it did not disappoint...service so friendly, food delicious, thank you... hope to visit again soon.

Lovely pre-gig meal here with my mate. Delicious currys freshly prepared. Sounds like a minor thing but nan bread was awesome.....very light and delicate....yum!

What a lovely Indian restaurant this is, once you get up the stairs you enter into the lovely bar and restaurant. We could not fault anything the food was amazing and we were really looked after well, it was excellent value for money too. Thank you for a lovely evening ?

Came from Huddersfield, very impressed with the food, came very quickly and even made some alterations without question, would definitely visit and reccomend, the staff was very polite & warm welcoming along with a good atmosphere service was a 10/10

Visit Shimla many times and have never been disappointed. Customer service is second to none amongst stiff competition in Holmfirth. Food is always hot, tasty and great value. Special mention to Zain Ahmed for looking after us all so well tonight. You are a star.

A zero if possible. We ordered a take out, picked up (we only live a 2 minute walking distance) rice was almost cold, curries flavourless (my partners was meant to be extremely hot and it was not borderline spicy, all side dishes flavourless and greasy, raita was congealed, poppadoms stale. Worst Indian takeout we have had. Complete waste of money and it went straight in the bin. Better takeouts in the area.
