Very small restaurant but the best fish and chips we have had in a few years. Great size portions, very friendly staff and at a very fair price.

Great compact traditional fish & chip shop opposite Huddersfield Market. Lovely food all round, fish is quality and decent portion even the small size. Both fish and chips are always crispy without excess fat, fried fresh. They serve nice sides as well, tasty curry sauce, mushy peas etc. All really friendly staff, regards to Abdul who’s a top bloke. Since moving up from South, we’ve become regulars for dine in and take away. Can’t fault the place, consistently good.As others mention, opening hours are a tad slim so plan your visit accordingly.Parking: Pay & Display available all around the indoor market area, usually easy to find a space except busiest market day - Saturday. It’s £1 per 45 mins I think.Kid-friendliness: Fine for kids

The food served here is probably the tastiest fast food in the local area and in Huddersfield the staff, led by Abdul, are all friendly and treat you like royalty. Sharky has 2 outlets, one at the outdoor market on Byram street, dine inside delivery or takeaway. The other at the top of Southfield Road - Almondbury, takeaway or delivery. Both sites are staffed with the same crew so this leads to a very very good level of quality ad quantity. As for quantity, I have never seen fish and chips as large as is served at both sites. I think that the variety of food d drink available at both sites is great. Pukka pies, sausage, scampi, and other food. You need to be really hungry to eat a large portion though! We visit the Byram street every Saturday and have medium fish with peas/curry. You get a few chips, added for free, that make it a bigger meal. Really great food at reasonable price…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently went in n had fish cakes chips and curry sauce. Best chippy food I've had in years. I got them to cook me 6 more fishcakes to take home for me n my better half and she loved them too. Amazing food. Lovely staff and it's a great atmosphere in the restaurant to enjoy a quiet meal. Also the prices are very reasonable. This place is the best in Huddersfield at what it does. Highly recommend ?

I can never fault the work that the guys at Sharkey's do whenever I visit I am always greeted in a freindly manner. There service is always fast and efFISHient and I have been a regular here for many years, their food is great value for money too. If you ask for a small of anything you almost get as much as a medium and they always give extra chips. Excellent customer service is why I keep coming back. Only small downside is there isn't any onsite parking making it difficult on the busy main road especially with buses but there is a bus stop right outside for anyone who needs that.
