What a lovely spot!!! Called one cold Thursday afternoon for coffee and cake whilst visiting Ilkley for the first time. Hadn't seen many cafes ( and I refuse to queue outside and pay inflated prices of a certain other cafe in the area!!) when we spotted this by the car park. The cafe was lovely and warm. It is really quite big with some of the tables being out in an old, covered arcade. There were even blankets out here for the more colder days. There are tables for two or four then longer tables for larger groups. The tables and floor were spotless, the staff were welcoming. Our coffee was good and hot and full of flavour and the coffee cake was a proper Yorkshire size!!There are some vegan options - plus ice cream for dogs! And I saw a lady come for take away.It wasn't until I started looking at the boards in the arcade that I realised it was a Community type cafe and I started to take more notice. It was wonderful to see the adults working together! What a fabulous place! So, if it does take a minute or two longer for your food to arrive , don't moan , just think how lovely it is that people with disabilities are being given the opportunity to be trained up for a job! The beautiful young lady that served us couldn't have been more pleasant!! She had a constant smile on her face!! How gorgeous! She looked so proud to be working - and so she should be!Two words of warning - you do need to pay by card ( not a problem to the vast majority of people ) and, I've been told, they sell out of scones quickly on busy days!!So, if you give them a visit remember - There is still some good things happening in this world !❤️❤️❤️Ps we added £1, as a donation , to our bill and they were so genuinely pleased. We won't miss the £1 but it means a lot to them.

What can I say but the warmest welcome, a super cup of tea and the very best coffee and walnut cake we have ever had. Keep up the amazing work. This is a gem in the lovely town of Ilkley.

If you like humanity or if you want to feel better about helping such a great initiative, give it a go.Only one warning, on busy days certain cakes and scones sell out quickly because they are so good !!Great place, funny and cheeky staff will warm your heart. Very reasonable prices too.

Called in for lunch with my teenage granddaughter. we like to eat in local independent cafes with homemade food.My granddaughter had a cheese and ham panini.I had jacket potato with cheese and salad . We shared a scone with butter and homemade preserve. Everything was lovely, and fresh service was good .If you are in the area, give it a go

A really great cafe. The staff are very friendly and always working hard. Food and coffee are a good and fairly priced for Ilkley. Free wifi available, so an excellent place to work during the day.

we were visiting Ilkley for the day, initially went to Wetherspoons but it wasn't to our taste, saw this over the road so came in. Quite big really like an arcade, tables and chairs down the centre with blankets, it is undercover, also seating inside cafe itself. Toilets too. It is a community enterprise for less able people, with learning disabilities etc. 2 of us had a bacon t-cake and granddaughter had victoria sponge cake, Tea also, it seemed a little slow, however when we read the leaflet on the table about the cafe we realised it would take some time. Enjoyable sandwhich, glad we supported a good cause

Wanted to find somewhere in Ilkley with my little brother in law and what a beautiful little social enterprise. My pup Rupert was very very looked after by numerous staff. Specifically an extremely helpful young lady called I think Stephanie? (Apologies if I’ve got that wrong). Reading some of the reviews I think shows the problem with our world currently, where a social enterprise, to anyone with any sense would understand a higher cost and longer waiting times with equal opportunities for disabled staff. Some of the best service I’ve had in recent times as someone who travels the country regularly and definitely will be back. Thanks again and please people let’s stop lining the pockets of Starbucks or Coca Cola through Costa and support these schemes.

A social enterprise venture in an old picturesque arcade, run to support and train people with learning disabilities in food and drink hospitality. And they do really well with a warm welcome and excellent drinks snacks and small mealsWhy not spend your money for a good cause instead of adding to the profits of a multinational?
