An outstanding Sunday

Improvements needed in food quality, and customer interface when paying the billFish pie dry , few items not available but not an issueCurry dish very nice but had to ask for more curry sauce as absolutely not enough leaving rice to take up most of the plateAfter presented with the bill, we said the main bill was being paid by the person who arranged the meal outing and the tip was being paid by another guest , so gave £10 tip but When paying bill it was noticed they had already added a £10 tip without us knowing and never pointed this out until we realised . The lady manager, Emma, then said she did not realise they had added the tip automatically, they certainly would have had to manually remove the automated tip and would have known about it all along , we did leave a £10 tip but not happy that the Emma, the manager, just accepted £20 tip without clarifying they had already charged us a £11 tip.I subsequently cancelled the dinner we had booked for the next day for 5 people as don’t believe customers should be treated as ‘cash cows ‘ when they have already paid over the odds for the food / drinkJust an update, following response from Emma. It was yourself Emma , that presented the bill at the bar. Not a member of the team at the table, so perhaps no need to remind them about telling customers

Very nice country pub. Service was superb, lovely decor and layout of the dining space, and food was good. Crab pate a highlight!

The Fleece is our local and we feel so lucky to have it just a 5 minute walk down the road. There's always a warm welcome when we walk in, the fire is always lit in winter and there is a fabulous terrace area at the front for drinks and dining in summer. Emma the general manager has put on some brilliant events since she has taken on the pub, such as live music on the terrace throughout summer, New Years Eve party, charity events and Meet The Brewer evenings with a bespoke menu and drinks pairings hosted by a local brewery. The quality of the food is excellent and there's always a choice between pub classics and the more premium, seafood inspired dishes on the specials. They have a good relationship with a well regarded fishmonger so the quality of the fish/seafood is exceptional. There's a great selection of wines, beers, premium spirits and cocktails. Emma is knowledgeable on her wine and has her little black book handy if you're ever after something a bit different! We always have a lovely chat and feel well looked after by the front of house team Andy, Bogdan, Michaela and Mike. We also love that there's the option to sit in the cosy bar area if you just fancy a few drinks away from the dining area. The Fleece is definitely our happy place since moving to Addingham 4 years ago and we love taking friends and family down there when they visit us.

Visited tonight after seeing good reviews on here. we’d booked in advance. Arrived on time but stood in the bar being ignored for a solid 5mins. Someone behind the bar actually walked passed us and went and sat down chatting to her colleagues. When we did get sat down we got told who our server was but 15mins passed and no one came. We finally managed to order drinks which took another 10mins and then 10mins after that we managed to order food. We did order another drink but it never arrived and it was on the bill so we had to ask to remove it before paying. Bogdan was friendly throughout and he did make a good impression but not much else was good. We did leave a tip to show some appreciation. The menu looked good and plenty of choice online but unfortunately that wasn’t the case tonight. Loads of dishes were either sold out or unavailable and it was only 6.30pm. We could order salmon fish cakes or the fish pie. We even tried to order a non alcoholic Peroni and none of those available either. Starters of chicken liver wasn’t great. Squid was very fresh but the salt and pepper coating was far, far too salty and we like salt but that was something else. Garlic bread was pretty measly and looked a little burnt. Mains of katsu chicken was nice. Korean chicken burger was nice although the bread was rock hard like it had been warmed/toasted too much. The steak pudding was nice but not much meat. The brisket and chorizo pie was tasty. The service at the start really didn’t help the meal get off on the right foot, then when loads of stuff was unavailable that didn’t help either. Some of the dishes were place some not great at all. Overall disappointed and Won’t be going back.

Met up with a large group of friends on Christmas Eve for drinks and nibbles. We sat in the bar area which was lovely and cosy. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Really love this pub and will definitely return for food.

Lovely pub where we have eaten several times in the past. Today we took our family and the standards have slipped hugely since our last visit. Firstly, we were charged £3.95 for a pint of lemonade and £2.70 for lime and soda which is excessive. The food arrived - portions were small. The gammon was cut far too thinly and was a small portion and it arrived with about 15 chips and 2 eggs. The garnish was a token gesture of greenery (no tomoto etc) , no peas - just literally gammon, egg and chips for £16.95! We ordered apple strudel for dessert which was described as “puff pastry”. The strudel had been microwaved so not only was it not warm but the pastry was soggy - at £8.95 this was very disappointing and so it was returned to the kitchen. On payment of our bill a 10% charge had been added which we asked to be removed as prices were already highly inflated compared to the amount and quality of food We’ve been left disappointed and feeling a little ripped-off. This used to be one of our favourite pubs but I doubt that we will ever return.
