Popped in here to wait for my daughter on a late sunday morning. Ordered a cup of tea and the guy behind the counter was very welcoming and made a great cuppa. Sat in comfy seats and enjoyed my tea in peace. Good, quiet location meaning plenty of seating for all.

The staff are extremely rude. As soon as I entered the building, a female staff member barked at me to shut the door. I didn’t even notice that it was open. It doesn’t hurt to be more polite. I’ve been here 4 times now and all the staff seem really miserable, unhappy with their jobs and they project it onto customers. The guy with glasses who works there is quite smug and laughs at customers behind their backs. It’s a shame that me and my partner noticed this behaviour. I’m going to be writing to head office about this since this is quite possibly the worst cafe Nero in the country. The cafe Nero in Wellington place is amazing and they could really do with learning from them on how to create a nice and inviting environment for customers.

I think better management and training is needed since they need to learn to be nice to customers, who effectively keep them in a job. As a devoted coffee enthusiast, my recent visit to Cafe Nero in Central Square on Wellington Street was an absolute delight. The service was outstanding, and I indulged in two hazelnut lattes, thanks to a fantastic recommendation from a friendly team member who also suggested their delectable lemon cake. What sets this particular Cafe Nero apart is its unique vibe and a more laid-back atmosphere compared to other locations I've explored. Nestled in Central Square, it provides a quiet, homey, and cozy space—perfect for spending a tranquil hour working. Highly recommended, especially if you're discerning about your coffee; it's a significant upgrade from Costa Coffee. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Caffè Nero will serve you the most basic, uninspiring flat white and then somehow have the audacity to charge me £3.50 for it.

I normally cannot be bothered to comment here, but this is the worst Cafe Nero I’ve been to. The staff was so grumpy somehow, asked for the code for the toilet they seemed pretty annoyed and gave me the wrong one, just left the place without asking again because I could not deal with that attitude anymore. And the coffee was way too sweet. Seriously level up your staff training please.
Poor, unfriendly service. Was served my coffee in a takeaway cup, so I asked why and was told, oh he must not have known. Well, he couldn't have known, because he never asked me. I waited to see if I was going to be offered a replacement in a mug, but no, this was not on offer. I also bought a sausage sandwich which was heated up but was still cold inside. I took it back to be reheated and the person acted as if I was wrong about the heat of the sandwich, but reheated it anyway. It was actually still not that warm when I got it back, but I was hungry so I risked it. I paid 30p extra for a different coffee bean and that was well worth the extra as it was drinkable, even pleasant, unlike their standard bean which I thought was really bitter and unpleasant. I would not particularly recommend this store as service was unfriendly. I did not observe any staff smile and was not greeted in a friendly manner. Food was not heated correctly, and the reaction to my request for it to be reheated was a little hostile, which made me feel like my honesty was in question, maybe this was because I had already challenged my drink being served in a takeaway cup, so the member of staff had decided I was an awkward customer. Overall a negative experience and I would not be keen to return to this store.
