Perfect, just perfect. I have booked the spot for the Christmas night much in advance.... A couple of days before the date these good people just "do not accept my booking". This is easy to understand from my name that I am just a tourist in England, and I have absolutely no chance to find any alternative closer than 300 km from Leeds for the 25.12 being just three days in advance.Just a perfect holiday in England. You could not help me and my son more in ruining Christmas mood. What a shame.

Was bought a luxury afternoon tea as a gift. Went today with my partner and I have never seen an afternoon tea like it and this was supposed to be a luxury one! Sandwiches made with cut up cherry tomatoes and lettuce on sliced white bread, one slice of salami in more white bread. Sad slices of chocolate cake, 2 tiny eclairs and packaged Madeira cake with 2 scones. No savoury items. It was awful. The staff were lovely and very apologetic. We got a refund and a free glass of wine each but really??? Do not go here. Leeds has such fabulous restaurants that this sort of quality is shocking.

We booked a table for 7.30 4pp. We arrived to a closed kitchen, no staff, no atmosphere. No apologies for not acknowledging our booking. Needless to say we left immediately!

Had an afternoon tea last saturday, met by pleasant staff sat at our table was brought tea and coffee and the afternoon tea. the chicken tikka wrap was very nice but then the sandwiches 1st cheese very thinly cut, the next i think it was Turkey, again very thinly sliced more to the point it was processed no taste. the pastries wasn't much better i'm afraid, I had one and left the rest. finally the scone with jam and clotted cream was perfect. Do not think we will be returning.

Delicious meal, The chef has a passion for cooking and uses lovely fresh ingredients in a creative and flavoursome way. The Tempura prawns were served with a delicious seaweed, sesame and chicory mixture, which was very unusual and scrummy!!! The sticky toffee pudding was to die for!!

I went here with a group of girlfriends, there were 8 of us. We had afternoon tea and it was excellent value and food was delicious. Service was great and our waitress kept checking if we needed any more drinks, we could have as much tea or coffee as we wanted

My wife and myself went for afternoon tea. Over £50 spent on 2 finger sandwiches each, served on stale dry bread. 2 dry cakes and 1 scone. Sent it back and was given an alternative of fried prawns and cold yorkshire puddings. There were no other customers and no staff to be found.Eventually saw a member of management who offered a refund which has not actually been processed to my bank account. If there was an option to review with zero stars, i would have done for every category.

Half of the menu was not available.Ordered Lamb Shank also not available, then two customers who were dining after us were served Lamb Shank! When I complained was told they reserved the lamb in advance! Had to settle for steak and wasn't given a steak knife despite asking and they forgot the fries. Really poor service. They did give me 50% off for my troubles. If you just want a cocktail then probably ok, if not then stay away.

Booked an afternoon tea for my mum’s birthday, no staff at the restaurant (despite having a booking and 2 other customers sat eating). After waiting 10 minutes I had to ask a different staff member if any staff were in the restaurant, she was very helpful and then made a call and a staff member appeared to seat us. Afternoon tea itself was disappointing, sandwiches were not as advertised - a “toasted club sandwich” was a BLT, a “salmon and cream cheese bagel” was a ham sandwich and a “beetroot and humous wrap” was a sandwich with a mysterious red paste. Our server didn’t explain any substitutions before walking off. She did refill our tea, provide milk / sugar etc in a timely manner when asked. The server would sometimes not be present / visible for a prolonged period of time which would have caused issues had you wanted anything / to request the bill. At 1pm when there are customers present this surprised me (I.e. if it was immediately after breakfast rush or just prior to evening meal I would understand them having lots of other tasks). For such a highly regarded hotel we were both disappointed and though the food was fine (despite the quiches but that’s personal preference) we wouldn’t recommend it for an afternoon tea to others.

My husband and I went here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat.Place is stunning and incredibly clean with lovely aromas drifting through. There was one other couple in the restaurant/bar and there was one waitress and the chef in the kitchen.Afternoon tea was delicious and good selection of cakes, could do better selection of sandwiches as only cheese and salmon. We wanted another drink but there was no service at all and could not find anyone to order at the bar or in the restaurant. We eventually asked for our leftovers to be boxed and it took over 20 minutes! There was still nobody in at this point.Service was incredibly lacking and let the experience down.

Best burger and chips I’ve had in a long time. Kimberley and Eve made me feel very welcome and their standard of service was excellent. I can’t fault the food not the service. I will return.
