“Don't judge from the outside as it doesn't look anything special. This is an Excellent pub with a really good range of decent beers ( especially the Ossett brewery) to choose from. Nice and varied seating inside and out and, dog friendly too! Was very impressed! Busy but not mad on my visit and friendly locals and bar staff too.”

“I went to the Cross Keys for lunch with my stepdaughter. I ordered hunters chicken and she ordered lasagne. My chicken was moist and the bacon was thick sliced so it was really filling with the chunky chips. My stepdaughter’s lasagne was a thick/deep portion, not the sort of thin, floppy lasagne you get in some places. She said it was delicious. We both really enjoyed our meals and will be going again.”

“Traditional pub that could probably do with a revamp - but given the cost of doing so and no doubt the limitations of what they can and can't do with the place due to it's history and local connections, it is what it is!Midweek tea time when I visited so not many folk in. That aside it struck me as being a great Local's pub and no doubt more bodies inside would make for a good atmosphere.On my visit I enjoyed a couple of good and cheap, pints of Yorkshire Blonde which hit the spot before I moved on. Great beer garden out the back with views over the valley and dogs are obviously welcome.I'll pop-in again the next time I'm passing.”

“Been 3 times in the last 2 months. Staff are spot on and very friendly. Not had a bad meal here, scoffed the lot. Little gem, that people miss. Chips are proper grand I tell ya. Give this place a go.”

“Family of 4 with GROUPON, I had the scallops with chorizo, really enjoyed theses, cooked perfect, husband had duck leg salad, said it was very tasty and a nice size portion. My two boys both enjoyed their starter of soup and prawns. For the main, I had hake with celeriac and pea what a dish, I really enjoyed this they were all cooked perfect and a nice size portion. My husband had beef cheek he said it just melted in his mouth, and again was really tasty. Both of my boys had the burger which looked really nice. Both boys said they enjoyed it. Overall the food was AMAZING really tasty. Service was a little slow, did have to ask after 10-15 mins at the bar, if we order there or will will the waitress take our order, the waitress appeared straight away, after ordering our order arrived 10 mins later perfect. I personally would recommend the pub and will be returning in the very near future. My compliments to the chef ☺️”

“Great food, very well priced and there's a really good kids menu too. It's always spotless and the staff are fab too. Can't really argue with a £29 bill for me and the kids!”
