We called in for a cheeky drink before my birthday meal, their card machine wasn't working we had no cash on us so we had to leave our details and pop back later with cash. Very inconvenient they should have a back up machine, and who carries cash these days.Duncan and Helen

Took my daughter for lunch today. In comparison to what it was like a couple of years ago when the food was piping hot and delicious, unfortunately the food today left a lot to be desired. Gammon was lovely, as were the wedges, but peas were like bullets, the lasagne was burnt, rest of the veg were Luke warm. Hardly anyone in, used to be busy. We won't revisit.

The burger was nice, especially with the extra bacon which was nicely crisped.And the onion rings! Really nice, hard to find quality onion rings that are crispy and not greasy. Those were perfect.Thank you!

Absolutely ridiculous service, we were served a steak cut up into thin slices and when asked for a full steak we were refused - they said that it is all cooked fresh if this is the case why couldn't we have a full steak?

We have been a few times since the pub changed hands. Food is excellent, freshly cooked and comes with good quality vegetables...as it is fresh, expect a little wait. Pudding choice is great too. Plus at the moment mulled wine is on offer...I didn't try it but may call back in just for a drink.

Excellent food Excellent service a very enjoyable evening with family. I tried the very unusual starter, haggis and onion bhaji, absolutely delicious. Followed by the homemade steak pie, again delicious. Could not fault the service or the food. Would definitely call again next time we are in the area.

Had a great experience. Cask beer is on point and nice that it was from an independent brewery. Food was outstanding, I will be going back with the family. Staff were all excellent. It was my first visit and I was made to feel welcome. The chips are outstanding!

Went white gate with my sister and grandparents, really enjoyed it. The food was spot on well worth the price. Absolutely no complaints and would definitely visit again. Infact my grandma wishes to go for Christmas dinner. Will say that it's a nice quiet place and parking decent.Parking: A triangle shaped lot with a decent amount of choices say about 20+
