What a special place this is.....the bar, the restaurant, and the outside areas are all top quality.The thought, knowledge, and work that has gone into making this an extremely pleasant environment in which to eat are very evident.The staff are all very polite, very helpful, and very happy - this all adds to the general "feelgood" atmosphere you experience the moment you walk in.The main event of course is the food, and that was second to none - quite simply some of the best Italian/Mediterranean style food we've ever had, prepared and delivered without fault.Top notch!

Food was delicious, service was slow.Our table was booked for 8pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived to find there wasn't a host on the door and the bar area was very crowded. We were seated at the table at 8.35pm and our starters arrived at 9.15pm. We each had three courses and all the food was delicious and well presented. The decor and atmosphere were lovely. We would dine here again, however it would be appreciated to have more efficient service.

The food was good. Not too keen on how the vegetables were served, all mixed together. I also thought that there was far too much salt added to the food. The meat, roast and mash was delicious and plenty of it.I couldn't fault the service. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I was with a group of 19, so the atmosphere was good.I've been told it's an expensive restaurant. I don't know, as I didn't pay.I would go again in a group.

Was expecting great things, but we found Devour disappointing. Our starters were tasty enough, but our mains were...well boring, and expensive for what it was. Service was mediocre. Can't recommend I'm afraid.

A lot of parents treating this place like a soft play centre, lots of children running around although I appreciate this isn't the restaurants responsibility. We had a significant wait for our food when we came for dinner on Friday. There was not much acknowledgement or apology for the long wait which was disappointing when you're paying so much for the experience. Aside from that, food was delicious although small portions.

Amazing restaurant, so happy it's so close to my house, I'd honestly eat there every day if I could.Seems to be getting more expensive each time we go though. Lobster Ravioli has had a 50% price increase for example, from £8 to £12 for a starter portion over the last few months.What was a great regular meal out, has moved into the once in a while treat category.

One of the best restaurants in Huddersfield and Holmfirth. My third visit. The restaurant was much busier than my previous visits and there were far more tables and people present, making the noise level much higher than I remember. If the business is growing and they can fill it with more diners every night, I cannot blame the owner, we all want to make money, but the ambience and enjoyment of the experience was reduced, in my view. The staff were friendly but service was slow because the restaurant was so busy. Food was brilliant. Cannot fault it. However, I have noticed that the tapas-like meals have left the building and prices have gone up (A lot). We all know prices for everything have increased but £6 for a pint of lager, £26 for chicken risotto and £16 for some pizzas is on the steep side. I paid for the meal and gave them a tip because the food was good. On the way out of the restaurant, I noticed that VAT had been added to the bill, which increased the total by 20%. I reiterate, the food was good and we do have to pay VAT ,however, I am not convinced that it is made clear that listed menu prices exclude VAT. I understand that this does not have to be made clear on restaurant menus but it should be made clear on a menu or notice outside the restaurant. I could not see a statement regarding VAT on the outside of the building or on the website. This is poor practice and customers should be informed that they will need to pay VAT on top of what are already steep prices at DEVOUR. To the owner, you have an opportunity to put this right now...

We first visited Devour in2022, when we found everything to our liking, that is the food, the staff and the excellent surroundings. We have recently visited twice in December 2023, the first visit wasn't as noteworthy as in 2022, then on our final visit things seem to have gone downhill altogether. First of all the menu choices have reduced along with the portion sizes. For example two of our group ordered Catch of the Day which was 1 tiny fillet of sea bass each, not the usual 2, along with burnt jacket potato. The Lobster Bisque was full of cucumber and peas it was a disgrace. The 4 pasta dishes that were ordered were lukewarm. All in all we were all extremely disappointed that such a venue seems to have lost its way, expecting people to pay over the odds for mediocrity, needless to say we will not be going again. A bill totalling over £650 is nothing near value for money by any stretch of the imagination.

2nd visit, last minute booking for early evening so wondered if we might be 'encouraged' to finish our meal and leave if they had a later booking and needed the table but no. Lovely informed staff able to answer queries from 2 vegan companions, food was excellent and great surroundings. Thank you for another lovely evening!
