we had a family meal here tonight and sorry to say the food was not good. I had to send my main back and share my sons. There was a discount applied but honestly they should have changed us just for the drinks. My son paid for a treat and shame what a let down.

It is not often I write a review like this but on this occasion I feel it is well deserved. We have eaten at several Ego restaurants and always been very pleased. So we decided to eat Sunday lunch here. When we arrived it was cold and uninviting inside and it took some time before we eventually found someone to show us to our reserved table. The waitress was pretty friendly but the overall service was nowhere near as good as we have received at other Ego locations.Starters were ok but then there was nearly an hour wait before our main course finally arrived and even then it was not hot and the roast beef was definitely not pink, more well done as were the bullet like potatoes. We sent one meal back as it was so cold. When it was brought back it was only slightly warmer. At no point after this did anyone check if we wanted any more drinks or if everything was ok. When we asked to speak to a manager to provide feedback on our meal he responded that he had only started at 1pm which was when we arrived. After offering several excuses he eventually offered a reduction on our bill. The waiting staff spent a lot of time standing waiting at the pass so it was definitely not a lack of waiting staff causing the delays. We will not be returning to Ego for a very long time if ever.

We had a lovely meal. I had the beef bourginion and it was really good. The service was great too. Very friendly staff.

Had to wait 2 hours for our pre ordered food to arrive. To be fair we had a large party so did expect some waiting. When the food did arriveI can hands down say it was the worst food I have ever had. We had the beef bourginon (sp) and it was actually unedible. Me close friends had the lemon chicken and it was swimming in grease. Will never be coming back.

This was a good meal. Just good, not exceptional.Prefer Horbury Ego for ambience.Food is always good. Situated on a major road junction and car park is not big enough for everyone wishing to dine here.Better to eat after 8pm for dinner. Northerners eat early so busy from 5pm to 7pm.

Smaller portions for the price. Also the time form being ordered to service is extremely delayed. Would be better experience if the service was quicker.

Took a pint back as it was off, it didn't smell or tasteright. The bar woman rolled her eyes, but gave me another pint.

Been to a few ego's and had relatively good experiences...however we tried the Friday night half price menu at the Beverly arms...I ordered the filet steak which should have been £30, disappointed was an under statement the steak was terrible, never a filet and bland over cooked,....I can see why they promote half price because your not actually getting what they would offer you if your paying top whack, it wasn't only me, my daughters ordered the same which was as equally bad. Suppose you get what you pay for, I'll stick to paying full price in future, at least I can complain knowing I've not ordered the cheaper option. On a good note the staff were excellent??.

Food bog standard, mid priced food, nothing fabulous. However, the staff were great, especially with the grandchildren. Happy to pay the service charge as it was explained as discretionary, so no secret expense. Drinks were very expensive. Children's menu should come with a drink £3.45 for a 200ml carton of orange and mango, is ridiculous.

Went for an 80th birthday party, service was dreadful, waitresses didn’t seem to know what they were doing, and we were barely checked on and were never asked if we wanted drinks. Glasses were never cleared. Food was also awful - I had the linguine and it was extremely bland, others also were very disappointed in their meals. It’s a lovely setting, but unfortunately would not recommend or ever come again. Definitely overpriced for how bad the food and service is
