My girlfriend and I dropped in to sample the lovely home cooked Thai food we'd read such great reviews about. What a taste sensation and the owners are friendly and such lovely people. I had the home marinaded pork skewers that were delicious and fell apart, for my main I had the special of the day stir fried pork belly, the belly was beautifully cooked tender and crispy.
My partner had the chicken satay skewers with the incredible home made peanut sauce and her chicken masamun was absolutely packed with flavour and to die for.
Do yourself a favour and try some wonderful home cooking 5?????

The Blue Bell Inn

Had a lovely birthday meal in this lively little pub.
It's not far from the A1 and half way between Nottingham and Bedale so family could all meet up.
Very reasonably priced, tasty, well presented food.
In comfortable surroundings.
Would visit again in the future.

Cromwells

Lovely little cafe. Had a coffee and a lemon meringue pie. My partner also had a coffee and carrot cake. Both of which were gluten free and lovely. Will come back.

Mamma Mia Pontefract

Had a gorgeous meal with family for our sons 16th birthday, food was amazing and very tasty, the staff were all fantastic. It was a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Great customer service from the get go. Booked a table for 12 of us to celebrate my mum's birthday. Sabri was great and so helpful and friendly with all of us. Lovely food and good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back. Thank you ☺️

Farmer Copleys

There sausage rolls from the farm shop are amazing you can get them either frozen as a 4 pack or individual ones already cooked, on the pricey side but definitely worth the money.

Chip Pan

Excellent fish and chips.
Really fresh and cooked to order.
Very generous portions.
Haddock was really fresh and cooked in beef dripping without the skin.
Had a turnover which is basically a Yorkshire fishcake. Two slices of potato with a generous section of fish sandwiched in between then battered .
The service was excellent. Such a friendly couple. Makes you want to return.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone and will return again next time we pass

Lanes Ladybalk Fish & Chips

came in yesterday for Cod & Chips twice, no Cod. so wife had Haddock & Chips & I had Battered Sausage and Chips. The Haddock and Sausage tasted as though left in warmer for a while. Batter soggy underneath. Used this place lots of times and allways good but today left disappointed.

Bobs Burger and Shakes

Had a great experience at Bob’s Burgers and Shakes! The service was amazing — really friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everything came out quickly, and you could tell they really care about making customers feel comfortable.

The burgers were absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. And the shakes? Easily one of the best parts — rich, tasty, and the perfect treat alongside the food.

Overall, loved everything about this place. Great service, great food, and a really good vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The Viceroy Of Hemsworth

Had loads of takeaway meals from here always spot on, been twice to eat in the restaurant and its bang on. The meal we had tonight was lovely, and the staff are brilliant. We live in hemsworth so its sound to have such a great restaurant within walking distance. 100% recommend ?

Turnpike Brewers Fayre

Great value kid friendly place to go for breakfast. Aron, Chloe, Ellie and Jess were all very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed including activity packs for the kids.

Just been here with my son after a long time of making do at other places whist on the road,and omg this is definitely the place to be for that growling stomach,absolutely perfect lovely staff as well ?

Baden’s Butties

Delicious, substantial butties (I had sausage and egg, my wife a bacon buttie) at good prices and friendly service. Nice little area outside where you can eat. A perfect start to the day before a long drive back to London!

Papa Johns Pizza

I’ve recently been diagnosed with some intolerances that were effecting my health and my first obstacle was met today in ordering a takeaway. I rang around a lot of the big names who offered gluten free and vegan (dairy free) separately but couldn’t be done together? I tried Papa Johns hoping to find something and I did! I rang the Pontefract branch to double check everything and a lovely gentleman answered an reassured me what I was seeing what correct. When I collected my order the same gentleman served me and all I could do was thank him. He told me to always check on the app for the allergen and intolerance markers and to just ring if I ever place an order and want to adjust anything. Lovely service, thank you

Lovely pub with excellent vegan options including pizza, pie, and desserts. It's dog friendly too which is brilliant for me as I go everywhere with my little girl Agnes. Will be back again soon.

Order several times from this place and always come piping hot on time never had a bad word to day about the place, brilliant service from all staff inside the shop and delivery drivers

Ego at The Beverley Arms, Ackworth

Very friendly, professional greeting.
Our waitress (Neve) was very polite, personable and attentive and served us very professionally. We had a couple of nice which makes a difference from other places we have dined.
Meal (Duo of Pork) was a little dry and was missing a sauce or jus which we discussed with Neve.
Otherwise, most enjoyable.

Gelato Creamery Pontefract

An absolute gem in Pontefract! I’ve worked my way through just about everything on the menu, and I can honestly say it’s worth every single penny. The quality is consistently spot on.

The cookie dough and donuts are an absolute must—proper indulgent treats. The crepes are beautifully done, and the gelato shakes and ice cream are simply top tier. You can really taste the difference.

On top of that, the staff are always warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which makes the whole experience even better.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this place is an absolute winner—couldn’t recommend it more!

Pearl Dragon

My usual Chinese takeaway (of 15 years!) was closed so I tried this place. Bloody hell, what a lovely surprise! Delivered in 12 minutes on a Friday night, and the food was fantastic! Hot, delicious and presented beautifully. Highly recommended as clearly the new owners are doing a fantastic job. I will have a really tough choice in the future deciding between my usual or this place...

The Bosphorus Bistro

We recently visited The Bosphorous, it was our first night out since the birth of our son and we had the best night. The food was so tasty and the staff were so friendly, they really took the time to have a proper conversation with us. Best food I’ve eaten in a long time and that’s saying something coming from a classically trained chef.

Noor Spice

Noor spice is Bangin!!
Food was fantastic.. even though it was kebabs, you could tell that a lot of effort went into making a basic fast food item really tasty.
It was delivered hot, and on time.
The delivery staff are always polite and friendly 10/10 can't fault anything.

Pizza & Kebab House

Ordered a regular dona kebab with pita and a portion of kebab meat.
The portion sizes were BIG.
The meat was good but not the best, i would definitely recommend it though.
The one thing that let it down and dropped it a star was the pita bread! The bread came in its own bag and was very dry and hard, im not sure if it was being in the bag that made it dry or if it was stale and maybe out of date but knowing what I know id say it was stale which is a shame.

Look at this beauty! Best take away I have had in a long time. Got my order absolutely perfect. Very fast delivery and lovely service. Would definitely recommend!

Ordered some food tonight & it was amazing. foot was hot upon arrival, delivery staff was lovely, website easy to order from & customer service on the phone was amazing. waited about an hour for food & it was gorgeous. paid £26 for salt & pepper chicken, salt & pepper chips, spring rolls, prawn toast, king prawn & broccoli well with the money

First time ordering recently as we've just moved in and couldn't be bothered to cook after a long day of unpacking and moving furniture.Can I just say, it was incredible. We only ordered one large meal (with a salad included) to share and it was ample for both of us.Really tasty and hot even though it was delivered. (We looked on the map afterwards and realised that it's just down the road - oops, we'll collect in future).Really impressed and I think that we'll be ordering again and again. 10/10.

Food is always excellent and it's always nice chatting with the staff, been going frequently for a couple of years and never had an issue. I always pick up so I can't speak for delivery, but I thoroughly recommend Shummi.

The Last Bank

My partner and I came for the bottomless brunch. The service was absolutely excellent, the lovely lady serving us made sure the drinks were flowing in a timely manner and was so friendly! The drinks were made to perfection and the food was to die for! Props to everyone involved! Will absolutely be coming again!

I order from here a few times a week and I enjoy the food every time. I've had several different dishes and every one I've tried is top tier imo. Ignore the bad reviews because they can't be true. I'm a regular and haven't got 1 complaint and trust me if I had an issue I'd tell them haha . Service is top tier food is top tier and if you get a delivery it's at your door quick! 5* 10/10 rating from me! See you next time.

Food is not offered here, but . . . the service from staff is amazing, a fabulous night out in a lovely setting and the atmosphere is always wonderful, and the best bit? Dogs are very welcome, I definitely recommend!

Amazing place for any occasion! We had breakfast today and it was suburb quality and excellent value for money! Service was great and really friendly staff who couldn't do enough to ensure our visit was memorable. Will definitely go back for lunch and also a cocktail one evening. Well done Alleyc'zam, you've got it so right, you deserve to do well as you offer the best in the area!

Amazing food with variety of choices for everyone along side the daily special's, and incredible Sunday Roast's! The service is welcoming and homely and the drinks are spot on! Best Staropramen, Guinness and Landlord around. Highly recommend 10/10

Lived in Featherstone all my life and saw the report by Tight Yorkshire Man on FB so decided to give them a go. Can totally say it won't be my last visit absolutely beautiful enjoyed every bit of it Haddock, chips

Really enjoyed our visit the food was good and so was the service, it was good to get a dressing on the salad not many places do that. I had tuna and cheese toastie on sourdough it was very tasty, we recommend this cafe.

Absolutely delicious food we have been customers for over 2 years and have never had a bad order food is always consistent. The lads are always polite and friendly and so is the delivery driver can’t fault them at all its simply the best around wouldn’t go anywhere else !??

I periodically place a large order for 40+ people, and every time it has been spot on, never a single item is wrong, and always delicious! The staff are pros, providing excellent service and satisfaction always!

Bracken Hill Fisheries

Excellent fish and chip shop, very reasonably priced, choice of Cod or slightly cheaper Hake , Various vegetarian options , cooked in palm oil . Can't fault it .

Jolly's

Dont know pontefract all that well, called into this little cafe while there and what a little gem it is. I only had a sausage sandwich, wife had a bacon and brie panini with salad, everything made/cooked fresh and absolutely beautiful. The owners were very nice, noticed a few people coming in that were obviously regular visitors which is also a good sign. Will definitely call in here again on our next visit to Pontefract.

The Broken Bridge

Very big pub with a good variety of beers at an affordable price, typical Wetherspoon choice of good value food. Small outdoor beer garden seating area at the rear gets very popular when the sun is out ???. Well worth a visit if you're in town.

Came last night for the first time, ordered two lightly battered fish, two chips and a curry sauce. The staff were friendly, the chips were the best we've had, fluffy on the inside, still piping hot when we got home. The fish was cooked perfectly, flaky and meaty. Not too greasy either. We'll defo be back.

Staff are very polite and friendly and have always asked if we would like donner meat on the mighty meaty pizza which is very nice. Chips are gorgeous. Delivery is spot on. Excellent prices with great deals too,would highly recommend trying.

I ordered half and pepper chicken along with a beef fried rice, food tasted amazing as usual as it is my regular order. the beef is tender and the rice is fluffy I would really recommend you trying the fried rice yourself , as for the salt and pepper chicken it was nice and crispy with a lot of flavours. would recommend you coming here

Bell Lane Fisheries

I recently visited Bell Lane Fisheries and was seriously impressed! The fish was perfectly cooked – crispy, golden batter on the outside and flaky, tender fish inside. The chips were fresh, hot, and generously portioned.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even though it was busy. The shop was clean and well-organized, which always makes a big difference.

You can really taste the quality and care that goes into the food. Definitely one of the best fish and chip spots around – I’ll be coming back for sure!
