We had booked a table elsewhere but their power went off. They fitted us (9) in for food and didn't have to wait long to be served. Steak & ale pie with real homemade chips was delicious ?

We went here after it being recommended by a friend and unfortunately have to say it was disappointing.Unfortunately the service was not good at all. Initially drinks spilled slightly on table. Waitress apologised but didn't wipe up.40min wait between finishing starters and main course arriving. Had request a second drink from the bar as had waited 10 min for it between courses so presume the waitress had forgotten. When main course arrived again waitress struggling to carry 2 plates at a time tipped it towards me. I had to grab the gravy boat to avoid it spilling all over me. In doing so burned my hand.Again waitress apologised and left. Leaving us to clean up the mess and me to go to rinse my hand under the tap.Waitress was very young girl and whilst understand these things happen on occasions the spillages were not isolated to just our table. This needs addressing and training given along with accident reporting as I could have received a very nasty burn (I'm fine but it was sore).Lovely pub and nice atmosphere, but the food average at best so won't be returning.

Family friendly and Dog freindly pub with good food and helpful, happy and polite staff. They also have a large car park and beer garden.

A dog that came out of the kitchen was petted by staff who continued to serve customers food and drinks none washing hands. Food came after over 45 minutes despite the pub being quiet and no other meals being ordered or served. Staff unhelpful and denying what we had seen and stating food always takes about 45 minutes as it is cooked fresh.

Been here a couple of times now as its a bit out off the way for me so it's family get together. Never an issue, service and staff attitude is very good. Food good and probably better in a smaller group, priced good too. Large carpark is another plus. If you are after pub grub give it a go.
Sunday Dinners are beautiful and staff are so friendly.

We visited with our friends for a meal and drinks after recommendations and cant believe the disappointment. The pub was virtually empty save for a group of workers having a drink. Not the image we expected. We were shown to a table next to them. The room was really cold, really cold, and too brightly lit, which doesnt help , the cobwebs on the upper walls are hardly hidden then. We ordered, the staff were friendly enough. The meals were average at higher prices, and not as described on their own website, the prices being much more inflated. It wouldn't be that bad if the meals were good, I believe out of the four meals, only mine was what I would describe as good, that was the Cajun Chicken. The Gammon meals were breakfast gammon and too thin. The sandwich was average. It is so upsetting and disappointing when someone recommends a venue and it just fails to live up to your expectations, we won't return , another crossed off our list.

This is a nice pub with a big car park and good drinks range, but the Sunday Lunch was a huge let down. Price was low, but the 'roast pork' was like baked, thick cut bacon with the rind on (not crispy), turkey was better but nothing to write home about. Yorkshires and potatoes were likely from frozen. Overall, disappointing, nothing fresh and none of us finished their meal. Would stop in for a drink or possibly try their weekday food menu, but wouldn't go back for a roast.

Have been here twice; once for a steak, which was really nice, and once for a Sunday lunch, which although not expensive was very disappointing. I really hope the proprietors take the feedback on board about this as The Brown Cow has all the makings of a cracking village pub, which we would visit time and time again, if they can improve the roast.
