We've been coming to this place for years, and before COVID, have had great food and service. However since the new owner (which I believe to be the son of the previous owner), the quality and service has gone downhill.We went today after a very long time and were thoroughly disappointed. Our fish was freshly cooked, but the chips were not fully done. However we decided to not inform them of this as they were busy with other customers, and it was near closing time. At the end of our dinner, my son went to politely inform the chef (owner) that the chips were undercooked and they had ice within them. The cook and waitress then told us the chips were not frozen when stored, and that they've never used frozen chips. Whether they do, or do not, does not matter. My son simply told them as a way to inform them of the food, for any future customers; he did not go to them and complain.They proceeded to tell us that we had previously left a "nasty comment" on their reviews. This is simply not true, as we used to be a regular customer. We told them of this, and they became aggressive. They kept saying you should have told us earlier (though we only wanted to inform them of the matter) while repeatedly telling us to leave( it was exactly the closing time off 6:30pm) They also kept repeating how no customers have complained before, though this is not true, evident by the reviews on Google.As we were talking to them at the doorway, the waitress shut the door on me causing me to trip over.This is really a shame as the quality and service has not been upheld (especially across to the new owner) As a person looking to eat here, I urge you to look at how the owner responds to previous feedback. It will give you a good picture as to how the service is.To the owner, I look forward to a response.

I come here once a month for a quiet treat for myself when my daughter is at school & also a treat some days for my daughter and it's the best fish & chips to relax.Fish ,chips, mushy peas,bread & butter with a wee cupa... can't ask for more.If you need a bit of quiet time to enjoy your food then come here as the food is lovely ... & staff are nice too.Will be bringing my daughter here as she grows up as long as its here .Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves coming here with me.But more so me hahah .. lovely fish& chips

visited this place a few times when the dad was in charge it was good thenbut since the son has taken over the fish has gone downhillit was a summers day when i was waiting for my fish and chips the son was sweating from the forehead and he was just wiping it with his hand then touching the fish to put in the fryerwhen i asked him could you please not mind touching my fish with sweat still on you he got very argumentive i then said leave my order and got a full refundim very dissapointed at doyles hygine the time before this my fish still had bones in which then ruined my whole mealBeware and watch out for the guy frying the fish!!

Dined here a couple of times recently, lovely fish and chips. I don't live in Bradford so don't come to Shipley very often, but when I come this way again, I'll definitely have my dinner in Doyle's. Food tasty and cooked freshly to order. Cutlery, crockery and table tops spotlessly clean. Staff are polite and helpful. Good value on meal deals too.

First time visiting this fish shop, saw an opportunity to park outside on my way home from work and pulled in There is seating inside if you want to eat in as well as the takeaway, the food was cooked to order so just a short wait, the staff were lovely and friendly and it appears popular with locals The fish & chips were tasty and still hot after a 15 minute drive home, the batter on the fish nice and light, not a fan of heavy thick batter Would certainly recommend this fish shop
