“We went on a Friday night and loved the love music and general atmosphere.The food was great and though they'd just had a big party (which meant a long wait) we were happy to sit and have cocktails, chat and listen to the music until food arrived.The waiter also kindly gave us free cocktails without us mentioning anything which is always nice!Food was really great when it arrived and we'd definitely go again. Certainly one of the best places to spend an evening in Wakefield and it's only a 5 min walk from most car parks in the centre.”

“We come all the time to the sun , we love it as it’s our local pub. The food is always spot on and always leave with full tummies. The only thing I would suggest is more condiments on the table such as more sauces maybe bbq and salad cream”

“So we visited during the woman's world cup final. That was our mistake. However we did think about this and booked a table the day before to be sure we could eat.This is where the 1 star has been lost.... On entering we quickly realised we probabaly should have chose someonewhere else to eat but never fear.... We have a reservation here!! Or do we? When saying we had booked a table the guy behind the bar just said to sit anywhere... That's the problem... Nowhere to sit! The only empty table was a tall drinking table, not great for our 2 year old.We ended up squeezing into a corner in a tiny table for 2, literally enough space for a few glasses. Luckily the table next to us had finished and moved over and gave us their table before our food came.Thankfully the food was quite good to be honest. The only let down was the Yorkshire zinger burger that was a couple of deep fried chicken goujons with some sweet chilli, not exactly "zinger". Food came quickish, was hot and tasty.Unlikely to go back again with the kid, but if youre out for a drink and some food we would recommend.Wish we could give 5 based on the food but the awkward search for a table at the start knocks it to a 4.”
