None of the three of us had tasted Eritrean food before and so we sought advice from the owner who couldn’t have been more helpful. We opted for a variety of small dishes to share so we could all try the individual new tastes. Everything was delicious, and tasted fresh and aromatic. We were intrigued by the Teff bread which had a rather delicious sour tang to it. Only one other table was occupied (nearly closing time on a Wednesday evening), but the restaurant was light and airy with a beautiful display of colour. And a treat for me, as the coeliac in our group, to go somewhere where the whole menu (with one very small exception) was gluten-free. I took advantage and tried everything! Highly recommend.

We stopped for Sunday lunch, having not booked the waitress managed to sort us a table out fairly quickly. The food was lovely and portion sizes were very generous. Extremely good value for money without compromising on taste. A great first visit. Will definitely return when the weather is better so that the young one can use the outdoor playarea.

Went for pie night and honestly… I’m still thinking about it.

Proper pies. Not those disappointing “lid on top of stew” situations that feel like a betrayal. These were the kind that make you pause mid bite congratulate yourself on this bring a good life choice.

Great choice, all cooked well, and portions that don’t leave you eyeing up the nearest chippy on the way home. The gravy deserves a mention on its own!!!

Atmosphere was spot on too. Busy but not chaotic, good vibe, and staff were wonderful.

If you like pies (and if you don’t, I question your judgement), it’s well worth it. Will absolutely be back.

Edit: added more pie pics coz why not?! Different visit and another great experience with beautiful food.

Booked a table after sending a message yesterday to see it they had gluten free options. Was told there were plenty and there was and even an offer to change the rice for chips, we turned this down as i can just skip that part, Hubby and I ordered the shared hot starter, I has the flaffel and halumi and the dips then we ordered the mixed grill for 2 it way so tender and flavourful. Will definitely go back

Elise was on the bar and she got my can of coke out the fridge spectacularly, offered ice and a lemon wedge which I thought was a lovely touch.
She was absolutely granite.
Megan was serving food and she was so lovely, always smiling and was so polite.
Food was absolutely gorgeous, dan and Josh in the kitchen cooked everything to perfection, would definitely recommend the cattle as we would be coming back very soon.

Absolutely beautiful curry!!! So glad I found this place, will definitely be going here more often! Only bit of feedback is the chicken on the bone in the curry, there isn't much chicken from it other than that beautiful. The price is fantastic aswell £6:50 for chicken curry, 2 chapati and 2 pakoras.

Tried last night having gone off fish and chips for a while (always greasy and white chips )but this place was amazing brown fat chips and beautiful fish with hardly any grease on the paper it will definitely be our go to 10 minute drive but still hot when we got home big potions I could just eat it now wow thanks for restoring my memory of great fish and chips

Best restaurant in Wakefield, serves amazing, authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. Fantastic selection of drinks with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Anton, the owner, makes a point of speaking to every table and interacting with his customers. For us, the two waiters, Durim and Gerald create a restaurant where you want to return to time and time again, which we do. They are polite and attentive with a fantastic personality. DON’T MISS OUT!

First visit, came for fish and chips. I heard it was good and I was not disappointed. Went for the straight fish and chips. Reasonably priced, good sized portions. Sat outside on the picnic benches to eat them, started to rain a little so felt some umbrellas outside would be appreciated for such a popular busy place. The food itself tasted gorgeous, not sure what oil they use but gives a slightly sweeter taste. Couldn't fault it. The service was friendly, welcoming and engaging. Definitely one of the best chippies in Wakefield.

The food was good but not excellent, service was good, charged at 10% on your bill which didn't say it was discretionary, atmosphere was OK though we did go pre-theatre at 530pm on a Saturday and it was quiet in the restaurant. It's a shame that they don't offer a pre-theatre dinner menu, as i think that could do well, if promoted. The pizza was good, lovely base but mine slightly lacked in taste, maybe because I asked them to go light on the cheese. The chicken tagliatelle was a good sized portion and the seafood ravioli was good too, not a huge portion, sides are needed to supplement that dish. The courgette fries were not good though, as they were too chunky meaning that they were bitter. (Good courgette fries should be really thin). The lemon cheesecake was really good and a decent sized portion.

I wasn't a fan of the large specials board being dumped at our table without any form of explanation. Plus all dishes were really quite pricy on it, compared to the main menu. Also I felt like these weren't specials, rather it was an extension to the menu.

There's plenty of paid parking right outside the restaurant.

We spent £110 and had 2x large glass wine, 1 x large bottle of water, bread and olives to nibble on, a pizza , a pasta and a ravioli, courgette fries and one cheesecake.

Staff, AMAZING, all the girls very polity, quick service and very friendly. In the past week we visit 4 times.
Food: the chocolate cake was the best cake we ever had, moist, light and not too sweet. Amazing.

Nearest chippy to the premier Inn. Chips were brilliant, fish was good but some of the batter was a bit iffy. I just left that bit. Overall worth the trip if you don't want brewers fayre.

Food here was lovely. Waited quite a long time to be asked if we wanted a drink but service was ok after that. We did mention to a waiter we had an 18th Birthday we were celebrating. We were a bit disappointed it was really acknowledged!! Had more acknowledgement on these types of things at much cheaper restaurants. I saw a post from someone who received a little chocolate brownie for their anniversary. We spent nearly £200 as well. The food here is lovely and nicely decorated with a cool Asian vibe, however not sure would return. Think service game needs to he a lot better for the price for sure.

Took my boyfriend for his birthday meal here along with his two friends.
Booking was easy. I arrived early and was able to make use of the bar until the table was ready. The bar was out of a couple of things for certain cocktails but that can’t be helped.

The table service was incredibly slow. I had to call someone over after about half an hour of all four of us being seated. I kind of expected to have our drinks order taken upon seating us or shortly after but it didn’t happen until I called over a waiter to take our order. The waiter seemed to make a big visual gesture to being busy or flustered by looking back and forth and kind of throwing his arms around. The place wasn’t super busy but maybe they were short staffed or new, what do I know? I just wanted to order. He was apologetic when the food and drinks arrived. Everything arrived as ordered no issues at all there.

There was 40% off of food which was a lovely surprise and given that the food was lovely I really felt like I got my moneys worth and more.

I would definitely return to the venue for the food and drinks were very good but I’d hope for better service next time. Still, 4 stars in my opinion! Some things just are what they are!

Good service atmosphere. They don’t push sales or ask you to leave early like other restaurants. The food was just ok. Minestrone soup was pretty unsalted and mushroom soup was too watery . Fillet amazing . They don’t serve boiled carrot and broccoli in Italy though . Cannelloni was small
