It was our 1st time and safe to say won't be the last, a great vibe from the get go. The service was great, atmosphere was super chill but most of all the food was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend the brisket, belly pork & cracking with the hand cut chips (propper lush) as well as the Smoke house pilsner which was clean, crisp and refreshing. Our bill came to £51 which for 2 plates of food and 2 drinks I don't think is bad at all. We will be back!!!!!

We chose Smokehouse for lunch and were greeted on arrival by a lovely, polite and friendly staff member. He gave us time to peruse the food and drinks menus, took our drink orders quickly and let us decide what we wanted to eat.My boyfriend went for the Full House burger and I had a BBQ combo platter. The meat was all fresh, well seasoned and beautifully cooked. The chicken wings without bones are chicken tenders, not boneless wings but to be honest, they were so good it really didn’t matter! I highly recommend the salt, chilli and garlic flavour and would come back just for those!I’m really surprised at the reviews about bad service as it definitely was not the experience we had at all, albeit that we came on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime rather than a busy Friday or Saturday night.It was quiet but we were not made to feel rushed nor did we feel like we were ignored and left to our own devices for too long.Definitely would be back again next time we’re in Wakefield and would recommend.

We arrived to be greeted by quite a rude member of staff in charge who was quick to inform us we had an hour and a half before he needed our table back. Upon getting seated, drink orders were taken and didn't arrive for 15 minutes. When we reminded the same guy we hadn't had our drinks, he rolled his eyes and said 'yea I know. We are busy.' There were 6 tables!! Food arrived and was mediocre. Ribs were full of fat that hadn't been trimmed and consequently veins and blood vessels that hadn't been removed. We were upset to have paid £65 to leave hungry and still end up needing to eat again. Definitely won't be returning, quality/quantity are not reflected in the inflated prices

quiet as it was weekday lunch but I suspect it's quite lively in an evening. interesting and unusual food not sure I would call it a BBQ place as there was much that wasn't meat or BBQ sauce.Vegetarian options: halloumi burger looked nice

Lovey staff and atmosphere, we we're a little bit disappointed with some of the the meals. The burgers, I think was a frozen patties, very dry, the price didn't reflect this. The chicken resembles a greasey deep fried fish. But the pulled pork, and brisket very very nice. I was told the ribs were excellent. But we weren't put off as there are many other items we would like to try (looking at other tables)
