The staff were friendly enough, but I am afraid the photos are not reflecting the true image of inside, plus the food was average at best. My Vegtables for my pie and chips was a single piece of tiny Broccoli and some cabbage and that was it and my wife's was bland and bog standard plus the tables were sticky and it had zero atmosphere... shame could be so much more with care and attention. This was 100 percent the Barge Inn in Frome Road, where I asked if you served pies and you had one left which was peppered steak and mushroom which I have to say was nice, and YES there was one small piece of brocoli on my plate ... I am not in the habit of making up false reviews. Thanks

Lovely staff with great service, amazing roast, really nice to sit up by the canal. Dog was welcome and they cut up the sausage we ordered for her with was a thoughtful touch ?

We had many different dishes, Sunday roast, burgers, soups... The food was tasty. I was happy with the portions as well. My dissatisfaction is on service as it was only one person to cover the whole service and bar. You cannot expect someone to be at the bar and the service simultaneously. I feel stressed and I will definitely not return.

Wouldn't serve breakfast at 11:05 and took a £60 fine for parking aswell. Which i find it very bizarre fining your own clients that come and spend money on your services!

Were passing through the area and fancied eating out. Had the pizzas, which were ok but wished that I had chosen something more pub traditional from the menu as these seemed to be the most popular things in the reviews. Was surprised that the pub was empty at 6.30/7 ona Saturday night, we were the only diners at one point. Comment from another reviewer giving a 1* seems harsh given they didn't comment on the food and there are CLEAR signs saying if you enter the car park you need to register your vehicle on the keypad at the bar. Only real downer was that the dining area was rather chilly, even with the fire burning away. Probably because the pub was empty maybe? Staff attentive and friendly ?

This pub has contracted a parking company/debt recovery firm to aggressively chase local residents to pay fines for turning their cars around (not parking) in their car park. A great way to encourage local residents to attend their pub in future!

A cosy friendly pub with real fires and great food! We ended a canal walk here and cosied up by the fire and tucked into some amazing food! Great menu choices and also a good selection of veggie options (friend is veggie). The land lady and other staff were so friendly and welcoming! Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back!

Amazed by the excellent quality of the food! The Chicken breast with blue cheese & mushroom sauce and the Venison & pork sausage meals were restaurant quality. The open fire and warm hospitality made for an unexpected pleasure. Thank you to all the staff at The Barge Inn.

Pub backs on to the canal, used it this week as street parking seemed to all be permit controlled. Good size car park which you have to log your car reg at the bar. Great to sit right by a log fire to warm up. Staff were nice and the food was excellent and good value.
