The most wonderful dining experience, yet again. Service outstanding. Than you Rob & team. The southcott clan.

We came here with friends for Sunday lunch. Beautiful pub and dog friendly. The time we went it was very busy and I can imagine a reservation is a necessity! In terms of food - I had a swede and haggis tart for my starter - this was very pleasant. The roast was also of a good standard and everything had been cooked well. Both for the starters and main meal some elements of our dishes were cold/not hot which was a pity. And we did find the wait between starters and dinner to be rather long. However, all in all I’d come here again.

First time visitors. Am so annoyed with myself despite living relatively so close to this place have only just tried it. Food was really excellent. Service the same. We are not a straightforward family (an intolerance, a vegetarian and a vegan to cater for), but nothing was a problem. Yes it is “pub food” but way, way better. Visited on a Sunday night and the full menu was on offer which is unusual. Portions generous. Everything was beautifully presented, even the side order ‘snacks’. Highly recommended!

After reading reviews on this pub prior to our visit, my partner and I felt confident that we would have a good experience (I should point out that my partner and I rarely complain). We were shown to our table, then left to make our choices - the menu looked inviting. Once the food was ordered we had quite a wait. I had ordered the duck which, presentation wise looked good, although it appeared slightly under done and was extremely chewy, I could barely cut into it. My partner had the fish which again looked lovely, but tasted bland, I tried some and thought it was lacking any flavour, the sauce around it was pretty tasteless too. I ended up asking for something else, which the waitress agreed to. My partner then had to eat his meal whilst I waited for another dish to arrive (we didn’t want him eating cold fish and cold greens). After about 15 minutes the food arrived (and I do understand that you cannot make food appear in a couple of minutes). The pie and mash brought to me looked very appetising, with a separate bowl of greens and carrots. This dish tasted much better than the first, the pastry was lovely, although there wasn’t much inside the pie, mostly gravy, and about two very tiny bits of beef and a couple of bits of kidney. After we finished our meals we had another long wait. We had to ask for more water, and we also had to request desserts. Another long wait and the desserts arrived. Again these looked very appetising, and we did demolish them despite tasting something bitter in the sauce. Maybe the butter was slightly burnt in the process of making it. Anyhow, once we’d finished we just wanted to get going. I went to the bar to pay and waited a couple of minutes whilst the waitress appeared to be processing receipts. At no point did anyone ask how our food was, which is fine as it’s just a pub at the end of the day, but given this pub has won awards we thought the pub as a whole would have reflected this both in terms of food and service. For the price you’d expect better. We would not recommend this pub based on our own experience, and the disappointing food and service.

My first visit and I took my family (5) for Sunday Lunch. It’s definitely a notch above the typical pub roast and this is reflected in the price (50% more than other local options). It’s pretty good though and we would definitely return. Starters were tasty, and both roasts superb. Only let down by the desserts (we had three different ones), all of which were a bit bland.

This place is a hidden DIAMOND. I mean that seriously. The food is incredible, the staff are cool. No wonder we booked for Christmas Eve!!

Without a doubt, the best gastro pub in the Wiltshire/Somerset area. The Longs Arms offers a beautifully cosy traditional pub environment coupled with exceptionally tasty, and we prepared food. The menu changes seasonally, and it is always a great experience to see what's new. The staff are friendly and attentive and are only too pleased to do what they can to make your time their as pleasant a possible. The selection of local beer and wines are top drawer too. A must try!

Excellent meal! Very welcoming, helpful staff that look after us and our 2 little Westies, a wonderful find on our way from Devon to Lincolnshire

This has become our go to restaurant although we live on the outskirts of Bath ,much better than a city centre full of tourists at the weekend. The staff are very welcoming, the food is all cooked by the chef/ owner from local suppliers , and is always excellent. No it’s not cheap, but the food is of the highest quality.

tried this last night on recommendation , nice little pub, welcoming front of house and good staff, as with all my reviews which are honest the food is a notch above the norm & is very good but sadly overpriced ! £24 for burger and chips to which the chips are NOT hand cut is way too much . £17.95 is more than enough ! the main meals are robbery but at least dick turpin wore a mask, £29 is the max for grub in here, what they have to remember is this is a pub IN THE MIDDLE OF KNOWHERE IN A COST OF LIVING CRISIS, NOT A MICHELIN STAR RESTAURANT !!! also the wine is very overpriced so we didnt have any . if your not worried about spending on eating out id recommend it but if you are a green - king guru or a wetherspoons freak this place isnt for you !!!!!!!

This is the place to visit if you want a delicious meal served by lovely people in a very pleasant environment. The quality of the food is amazing , and it is plentiful too. The prices might appear a little high but the meal is substantial as well as superb, resulting in reasonable value. Everything about our visit was a delight, we will not hesitate to return, something one cannot say about every eatery.

Great selection of beers and gins, which suited us. We didn't stay for dinner, but the number of people who were booked in for dinner seemed a great recommendation should we have had the opportunity. Everyone working there were really lovely and helpful.

Went for dinner with friends recently. The pub is lovely and the service is good too. Between us we had two steak and kidney pies, the burger and fries and the boullabaise. We also shared a "smoked cod roe and prawn crackers" starter. The fresh homemade bread and butter brought to the table is divine and the starter was absolutely knock out amazing. All of the food is a very high standard, although the fries were not the best I have had. I prefer more of a "chip" than a fry and the prices have increased significantly since we last visited. We were too full to have a dessert, but enjoyed a homemade petit four each when we asked for the bill. The Longs Arms is a wonderful top notch gastro pub and a good choice for a special occasion. I would have given five stars, but we felt that £24 for pie and mash and £34 for boullabaise was a bit steep. Didn't get photos of all the dishes unfortunately.

Lovely quiet country "pub" set across the road from a beautiful church with the most amazing mulberry tree in the church yard (I mention this as we were eating with my 2 under 5 daughters) so made a great distraction. I say "pub" as the food was exceptional. Everything from the snacks to after meal chocolates was outstanding. The dishes were well presented and delicious. Service was attentive and polite. They were also patient with both our children and our many questions and requests (mostly due to the children). The atmosphere was quite which and the other people eating or drinking were friendly. Only thing I would say is it would be nice to have a broader price range of wines. All were quite dear. However the wine we had was lovely. Definitely best place I have eaten in the area around corsham (even better than many places in Bath).

Best food in the area without a doubt! Our second visit - and just as amazing, if not better than our first. Even the burger is impeccable and so well balanced. Lovely staff as ever too. Cannot recommend enough!
