We came last night for nye dinner and disco what a wonderful night we had a party of four we all said we would definitely come back next year the food was outstanding!!! It really was compliments to the chef on the outstanding food, as usually for party’s like this the food is usually a disappointment, but this was lovely even the canopies before were great and all the main courses were top notch and I have to say the sevice by the boys was excellent so polite and nothing was too much trouble well done to you all for a truly great night see you next year xx Decision

We stayed in the Angel, having stayed previously we always find the venue is clean and tidy with all team helpful in dealing with any needs ?Rooms: The room was spacious and clean.Walkability: The hotel is situated in the town centre which is really helpful in terms of accessibility you can park in the free car park and meander around the shops?

Stayed here for my birthday to get away from stress to find myself in more stress. Paid for a family room for 2 nights… very overpriced. The bed was meant to be a king size but it was 2 singles pushed together. It says unlimited access to the pool when that’s not true. The food was horrendous! The judgment we got for being young adults there was unbelievable. When we was about to leave the manager got intimidating storming down the hallway accusing us of messing with the fire alarm stating it’s not working when he did a drill the day before and it was working perfectly fine? Made me and another vulnerable girl very distressed. First time away after suffering with chronic anxiety and I’m telling you now… NEVER AGAIN! This was traumatic rather than a get away!

Great venue the rooms at the front have great charm . Breakfast help yourself type was really good great start for long day . Bar was good Restaurant first night ran out of steaks which we all wanted. But apart from that it was good 3 days stay for work . Definitely will try and stay again when in the

We were on a GLB deal. If we'd been paying directly for our food and wine we'd have felt short changed. Bottle of prosecco £35. Our Chicken Chasseur was the product of a microwave. Chicken was tough as old sandals. Desserts mostly chocolate and again bought in prepared. We asked for cream instead of butterscotch sauce for an apple dish but that was not possible. So there's no proper chef in the kitchen. Just food reheaters. Very cheap catering breakfast ingredients. I was hoping for a local butcher's sausages. The hotel is attractive and well presented with welcoming and friendly staff. My advice: eat out, perhaps at the tapas bar just across the road.Rooms: Spacious. Very good shower.

I was incorrectly issued with a parking fine when visiting the hotel for lunch, despite registering my vehicle with reception. Very disappointing and such a hassle.

We stayed in the older part of the hotel which is very rustic old coach house. Our room had a tiny door which was really funny, I’m 5ft10inch and had to duck. It all added to the charm our room was lovely and the bathroom again very high end and spacious. Hotel has a pool, I didn’t have. A chance to try it out. What let the experience down was the breakfast. We had three friends not staying at the hotel join us for breakfast, We walked up and asked for a table of five, the hotel employee said I don’t know you can look. So I did and pulled two tables together. We weren’t told it was a buffet so sat there for ten minutes before getting up to ask, hot water machine broken had to ask for hot water flask to be refilled to make tea. Had no cutlery on our table had to ask twice for it. Food was decent, but experience and service wasn’t great. Shame it put a dampener on the stay.

Excellent location and a pleasant garden. Room comfortable . The staff were far too keen to take away our breakfast plates- we felt that we were being hurried out. Also, in a hotel of this calibre, one would expect to be brought a pot of coffee or tea for breakfast, not to have to serve oneself with a faulty hot water jug. Considering that there were several waiters standing about, this would have been perfectly possible and would have given them something to do.The breakfast pastries were stale. There was an annoying practice of closing the front doors on Sunday, so we had to walk all around the hotel to get out. For people of limited mobility this was very unwelcome. Altogether a nice enough hotel, but it needs more thought. Also a shaver point in the bathroom.

Stayed here to get ready for my wedding and to stay after the wedding. Booked a bigger room which was lovely. It was clean and tidy, the only downside was that there were no aircon and it was a really hot day. There was 1 fan in the room but didn’t make the room any cooler. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all my needs. Highly recommend :)

Nice room and decor and reasonably priced. Shame the hotel is staffed by inexperienced scruffy teenagers. Whilst we were having a drink in the bar a young barman screamed/ swore at the coffee machine!! Not ver professional

Stayed here on a 2 night deal and found it great value. We stayed in a standard room which was spacious, clean & the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly & helpful, the waitresses who served us our evening meal were very attentive , Ewa to name one but unfortunately we didn’t manage to get the name of the other young lady on duty. Our evening meal was excellent our deal included a 3 course meal but the main course was plentiful so didn’t order any additional courses. The breakfast was good with a good choice of hot food & pastries etc. we personally didn’t experience long delays of topping up the food trays as mentioned on a previous review but we did eat fairly early. My only comment would be the serving & choice of the fruit at breakfast. The oranges & grapefruit were cut in quarters but unpeeled , the strawberries served whole with stalks on and the apples & kiwi fruit served whole too. Sounds petty but it did make it a little messy & awkward with just the use of a normal cutlery knife. Chopped fruit salad would have been much more enjoyable as experienced in other hotels we’ve stayed at. Would we stay here again YES.
