Bar • “Dinner with friends. The food was great, service was great, and the dining area was great. Perfect scotch egg with black pudding. I had the fish for my main course and, hats off to the chef - the flavours on my plate were awesome. The waiter was attentive, helpful and polite. I asked for a specific alternative to mixed veg and it wasn't a problem. We were not rushed and we will revisit.Food & drinks: Excellent.”
Bar • “I've been really looking forward to a Sunday roast out for ages and this definitely DID NOT disappoint.Everything we had was cooked to perfection and not a morsel was left on our plates. Lots of food (not like some of these expensive pretentious places!) and left me feeling full for hours after.We will definitely be back. The service was great - everyone was so friendly. Certainly the sort of place that Melksham needs.Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch.”
Bar • “Got a last minute deal here which was very good value for money. The staff are very helpful. The food is amazing. The decor and grounds are lovely. The outdoor pool is great. We stayed in a standard bedroom which could do with a bit of TLC but other than that I cannot fault the place.”
Bar • “The Barge scores highly on all fronts, a lovely quiet location with views of passing barges while you sit and enjoy a drink or a meal in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere under the huge riverbank willow tree if it’s sunny. It also has a large car park.I had the Haddock & Chips which was just the best and I also sampled a few of their large range of real ales which were a treat.I will be planning another visit in the not too distant future.Well done to all of the Barge team.Vegetarian options: There were veggie options in starters, main meals and classic meals.Parking: Parking is within the pub grounds next to the pub, 30+ parking spaces and hey have a few larger spaces that would be useful for Motorhomes.Wheelchair accessibility: The car park, pub and gardens are all on one level so looked to me to be suitable.”
