This is one of the best family orientated places around. The team are fantastic and really friendly. We go every couple of weeks just for a meal and to relax - the cowboy burger is a favourite in our family.

Absolutely love coming to The Wichel on a Wednesday for quiz night. Lucy is a fantastic server and always does everything she can to make it a great experience.Alex works so hard behind the bar and always makes sure we're looked after. Lexi has been doing a great job keeping up the pace on what always turns out to be a busy night. The whole Wednesday team keep us coming back week after week.

The Wichel Inn is on our doorstep, and I suppose our local.The food is always good value for money and the portions very good too.Staff are attentive and service is efficient.I would have put photos on but we demolished our dishes.

Maybe if portion sizes change, change the dish size as well so its not soo obvious..21/02/24 After a recent visit, unfortunately, the service was very slow. Waited at least 10 minutes for drinks and over 45 minutes for food. In fact, a side was served, and the server said food will be about 5 minutes. After 15 minutes, we asked where food was, and we were told 'it's being plated up now'. After another 15 minutes we asked again and we were told 'there's a problem in the kitchen, food orders are now half an hour'. A table close to us, arrived a while after us, had their meal and desert served. We were told when we ordered more drinks (just soft ones) that they are on a tab but will be free for compensation. When my son went to the bar to order desert, he was asked and paid for them...We were just told lie after lie! The food itself was barley warm apart from the tolders meal whose plate was very, very hot!

Tv was very loud for the football but suppose we should have checked this ourselves.Ordered, took 45 min for the food to arrive, after multiple lies ("5 mins" after serving a side meal. "Plating up now" waited a further 15min, "kitchen is backed up")Watched people sit, order main and desert, eat and leave in that time frame.Finally food came, and was warm and tbf lovely. BUT gave a toddler a HOT plate! Why?!Went to the bar and ordered more drinks- the staff member opened a tab from free drinks due to the mix up. When someone went to order pudding (which was much faster) he had to pay for the drinks on that tab also. So nothing for the inconvenience either. Its not somewhere I'd recommend, or return to.
