Absolutely lovely date night dinner yesterday evening. They managed to squeeze us in short notice. We loved the atmosphere and decor, the staff were so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious. My husband had a pizza which was bigger than the plate and made with fresh chilli (very nice but abit too hot for me), I went with the starter size of the risotto pollo and glad I did as, amazing as it was, it was pretty filling. Don't think I could have manged a full sized one. Plus I knew they had tirimisu on the menu, one of my favourites, so needed to save a space. It didn't disappoint. Looking forward to our next visit.

Why only 4 stars- I'll tell you at the end?. A meal out for 4 grandparents the birthday boy(5)his sister (18 months), their parents and uncle and aunt. Service was excellent with Tania our server taking orders and paying much attention to the birthday boy. With many conversations going on she managed to take all the orders in one swoop and offered and suggested. She checked after the food was delivered and asked us if it was all ok and then if any more drinks were required. The food was good, tasty,hot and was a good price.
The restaurant was filling up and was very busy within an hour of arriving. She still gave excellent service and the puddings were ordered and delivered in a timeous fashion. She made the meal go so smoothly thank you Tania.
So why the 4 stars. As the place filled up it got noticeably hotter to a very uncomfortable degree.
They clearly had aircon installed but didn't use it.
They're choice.
I would go back , but not on a busy day or time.

This is in my opinion by far the best Indian restaurant i have ever eaten at without doubt. I ordered a chicken chat for starter and a Macarni and asked for it at vindaloo hot which the chef gave me a strange look at because it’s slightly unusual, but it was honestly the nicest curry I have ever eaten. I would recommend it to anyone. I didn’t think the curry houses in Bradford would be easily beaten but this definitely outshines every curry I’ve had.

Also the atmosphere is very nice and great if you’re having a family meal. I will definitely be returning again.

Stumbled upon this restaurant today. There was a convenient car park opposite the restaurant. The restaurant itself is welcoming and has a lovely atmosphere. We had amazing service, very friendly and speedy. The food was amazing, I had the bolognese which was delicious. My partner had the sea food pasta which he really enjoyed. Would highly recommend.

Ordered on uber eats and they advertised vegan nuggets which I chose. Got a phone call and unfortunately they don't do them and hebwa unsure why I could order them. He gave me another option. On the phone he was extremely polite, he immediately let me know who was calling and why he was calling, making sure he was talking to the correct person. Very well spoken man on the phone and sad not to catch his name, recognition deserved.

A two word question that didn't mention they would cost extra (noted at the bottom of the menu where I didn't look) Unexpected but honestly, the food stopped me from lowering the rating. We were on a long road trip and decided to take a lunchtime break. My wife found The Cold Harbour as we are big fans of the Chef and Brewer brand. The pub has a lovely atmosphere as there were a lot of customers on the Friday we visited. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The food was delivered in quick time to the table. I had the cheese toasty which was served with a large portion of fries and salad. My wife had the scampi, chips and peas. Both meals were well cooked and of generous portions. I felt it was good value for money. Nice venue and well worth a visit.

Called in last week, first visit for a couple of months as have been going elsewhere in Old Town. Still a great pub but seems to be losing its way a little with all the real ale competition in the area and more arriving very soon. Beer prices seem to have jumped up, most pints now over £5; getting run down while others in the area have been spruced up - gents is hanging and women’s is apparently similar; food offering pricey and few takers- £12 for loaded fries!! Definitely seems to have less trade which is a shame. Be great if they could find their way again.

I have been to Gurkha twicenow, it's a really good place to enjoy both Nepalese and Indian cuisines. I had organised a party for some 15 people, they had done amazing job with the food, taste was amazing, it was presentable and had right amount of spices as we Indians prefer. We really liked the chilli chicken and fried momos. The staff and especially the owner, Suraj Bhai were so accommodating. Thank you so much. Will definitely keep visiting again and again.

Came here 13/10 for Sunday lunch with my wife. All the staff here are wonderfully friendly and attentive. Our drinks order was taken and brought to our table in literally minutes. We both went for starters, my wife having the home made soup (my wife said it was delicious), I opted for the chicken pate, which was also delicious. We both opted for the roast beef dinner, which was not only huge, but melt in the mouth beef. The desserts looked very inviting, but the very full and contented tummies prevented that unfortunately (next time we will). A special mention to the young lady that served us who was an absolute delight, and made our Sunday lunch memorable.

The atmosphere here is very welcoming, the patrons we met are fun as was the band and the staff! How we wish we had such a nice pub near us in the USA. Such a brilliant pub, moved to highworth and stopped in here for a drink! Its become my new local! The staff such as ruby and dan sre amazing and always make you welcome!

As you approach this place doesn’t look too appealing and it is usually a pain to park. Once you get over that it is well worth a visit and once you have been once I would e surprised if you didn’t return. I have sampled most things in here and have not yet been disappointed. I usually have takeaway rolls which are in wonderful bread rolls and generously filled. It is a bit small inside but you can eat in if you want and the breakfast is again generous and good value for money. The pastries are large and flavoursome and the cakes are amazing. I agree with some comments that the service can blow hot and cold depending on the staff but they are always really busy so I guess there is pressure to get people served. I love it here and recommend to everyone I speak to.

We didn't eat we had a 50th party there venue and staff were lovely but the DJ was rude didn't play the music we requested. We even had a telephone call to discuss what music I would like and he only played a couple of songs, said he would take request which he didn't very very disappointing as the music was that bad people left the party .He definitely wasn't worth the £200.

The Pantry

I normally judge a fry up by the quality of the sausage because I like decent sausages. I also judge a full English breakfast by the freshness of the food, including everything being hot!! I very much enjoyed the food today at the Pantry including the sausages! Many places serve poor quality sausages but the Pantry excelled. The food was Fresh, the bacon and eggs very nice and the hash browns perfect. Recommended.

Sometimes I feel lucky enough finding little gems when I travel. Coming to the Merlin was a very pleasant experience. Arriving we had a big parking for the car. There were entire families having fun outside, children smiling. Inside we had live music and they were raising money for Mc Milan. We asked for the sharing plater it was perfectly cooked. The wings weren't bad ? either. Going there today again for the coffee.

Stopped whilst out working at 9pm on a Monday evening and so pleased that I did it was without doubt the best scampi I’ve ever had period!!!! Lovely and will call again to try the fish and chips next time.
The quality of the scampi was amazing, so large and lots of juicy scampi in the bread crumbs!

Popped in for Breakfast.
Well it had been years since I had been to a TC. I must admit I was not expecting much! However, I was very pleased with the offerings. Food was great, hot and fresh, tea and coffee was fine.
The staff is most attentive as well.
It was an excellent start to the day and after a couple of hours drive beforehand the breakfast was well needed.
Very reasonably priced too.
Will I be going back - yes!

The Rose & Crown is an absolute gem. Our large group of 35 were accommodated on short notice. The lunch we all had here was one we all agreed was fantastic. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. And oh my, the sticky toffee pudding, so heavenly. Owner and staff were very hospitable. Worth a trip on its own!

Had a birthday party in a nearby pottery shop for my youngest boy. He chose here to have something to eat with this friends afterwards. Prices are very reasonable and the quality was very good. Staff made the children very welcome. I had a sausage, bacon and egg roll and was very impressed with this. Large bread roll, runny (not snotty) fried egg, decent bacon and a very flavoursome sausage. Nothing fancy about the decor but who cares when the food is so good. Also made a decent strong tea. Thank you everyone, kids loved it.
