I booked early in the year for a 3 course Christmas family meal for boxing day 2023. The food was ok but no pigs in blankets as advertised on the menu, there was no Christmas atmosphere what so ever it felt just like any normal day which was rather disappointing. I have to give credit where it's due the staff were very friendly. I don't think I'd book again for this time of year.

Rubbish!! Minimal meat portion, Overcooked sprouts, tasteless potatoes, soggy carrots and all tepid!! Minimum food temp for England is 65c, nowhere near hot.Chefs uniforms all need changing as they looked like they had been sleeping in them and whites should not be yellow! Have some pride in your appearance and buy an iron. An all round very disappointing meal.Vegetarian options: Overcooked and left to dry out and forgot the sauce!

Staff were great , very polite and helpful with us and our 10 month old . Welcoming , the portion size on new year's Day was good Great atmosphere , the veg was good overall but all our family didn't like the peas .

Ran out of some of the food that should never of happened as we spent a lot of monies for the meal. The prawn cocktail was cheap frozen prawns with sauce slapped on top. Not impressed and we will not be doing that again.Wheelchair accessibility: There is non, chairs and table are to close

Christmas Day meal was an absolute shambles. We paid over £350 for a Christmas Day meal and by our 4pm sitting you had run out of Turkey. How the hell does a restaurant run out of Turkey (AT CHRISTMAS) especially when your customers have pre paid for a CHRISTMAS DAY MEAL!!You jokers!! You knew exactly how many people were due in, you should have over cooked just in case. You cook Turkey every single day of the week, you KNOW exactly how many you need to feed so many people.Even the carvers were shocked at such terrible service. I DIDN'T WANT A ROAST BEEF OR LAMB DINNER. I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID OVER £350 FOR A DAMN NORMAL ROAST!!The tables were dirty, the staff over run, you had run out of crackers (apparently, however I found some when I searched the restaurant) the candle jars on the table were not lit.We were due in for the 4pm sitting, on arrival you asked us to go to the bar, 4:20 we were seated, nobody explained the process of what would happen next, after 30 minutes we chased the starters. The waitress had no idea who was having what or what we had even ordered!!!? Why the hell ask us to pre order on the 1st December if you aren’t going to prepare! After getting the smallest bowl of soup and the smallest prawn cocktail we headed up to the carvery, when we came back to the table the plates were still there from the starters, so I helped the waitress clear the table!Honestly I’m fuming. You are a disgrace and I want a part of this refunded. This was the first year we had ventured out for a Christmas Day meal. I’d never thought about spending that sort of money before, however when I called in for advice on the Christmas Day experience, I was promised staff happy to be there, I was sold Turkey, I was sold crackers on tables. So I happily handed over £350!!The food was nice, I’m not complaining about the quality, but it was not what I paid for. I want you to refund me the difference between a normal carvery vs the Christmas Day dinner!I look forward to hearing from you!

My wife and I had our reception here on the 15/12/2023 and even though it was a family affair we were all greeted with smiling and happy faces, the area we had was set up very nicely and had plenty of space for the young children to move about in, the staff were excellent and gave us their time if we needed help or service for refills of drinks and the carvery was extremely nice and the chefs were very professional with how they served up and performed their duties. Thank you all at the Toby Carvery The Friary, Swindon. We will definitely come back again soon.

Booked a table of 7 for staff xmas meal. In the notes I added to arrive between 12:30-13:00pm as we all were travelling from different locations. Arrived at 12:50, had to queue and was rudely advised by the manager that as we were late and didn't call we gave your table away. Squashed us into a booth instead.Food was nice and although busy it took over 40 mins for the starters to arrive.Manager and waiter seemed fed up and disengaged..Ladies behind the bar and carvery staff were friendly and helpful, different experience to the other staff in a good way.I did raise the table issue but let's say they weren't really interested..

This place has it all ! Everything time I come here it gets better and better. The food , staff, and atmosphere and service are spot on. Plenty space to park around too. Keep up with the great work.

Lovely food but not very hot, cold veg.Lovely place but waited long time for drinks but not overcrowded.I think if staff is a bit more efficient and food hotter this place would be spot on.

Great place for a pre Christmas family meal. Very family friendly and the waitress was friendly and efficient.Had the festive carvery, meat choices were pork, gammon, turkey, beef and lamb. 4 different types of potato, plentiful veg, stuffing and gravy. It's not a fancy place to eat, and doesn't pretend to be, but good value.

This place was fantastic! I am not local and was told to check out a Toby Carvery here in England, and it did not disappoint. Food was great, the vibe was really fun and happy, our service was good and then there was this one blonde girl who was so kind to us and helped us out on our way out. I can't for the life of me remember her name but she was awesome. I honestly loved the all-you-can-eat veggies.

Upon arriving we were told they have no tables tor walk ins.We were offered to sit in green area paying at bar. While waiting in queue no one tidied food area and most dishes were looking sad to the taking.Once food on plate there was no gravy or sauces all was empty. Sitting down to eat food was stone cold..Never will I choose your establishment again very dissatisfied
