Have been for carvery lunch at the Plough and Harrow Pershore today . To be honest we couldn’t get a booking at the two other pubs who do carveries . We were surprised therefore to see that it was only a quarter full especially three weeks before Christmas however when we saw that the carvery was £16 we realised why . We thought if it was really good it would be worth it but unfortunately the vegetables were luke warm and the beef was tough . Also no horseradish/mustard or cranberry sauce on display. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Having moved locally, this is our nearest Restuarant. We have been here three times in the last eight months. Having given the establishment three chances, we have now decided to leave a review in the hope that things can change. On each of the three visits we have unfortunately experienced; Mediocre food quality, Well over the odds prices for the quality of food. Really poor service. Greeted with a comment of “Food or drinks” , no hello or welcome, and no pleasantry comments during the ordering, meal and closing transaction.

Lovely home cooked food - veg lasagne fresh and tasted lovely . Partner had fish and chips which he enjoyed . The passion fruit cheesecake delicious . Top marks , will definitely go back again . Will try the veg carvery next time .

After having to change our booking several times (our fault) and this being absolutely no problem for them, we booked for an afternoon meal. There were 8 adults, a 13, an 11 a 4 year old and 2 babies. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even providing toys for the little ones. The food was delicious, the 13 year old (who can be fussy) cleared his plate quicker than ever seen and those who had the carvery said it was the nicest carvery they had ever had. Truly a great day and a lovely experience with great food. Thank you

They have just started serving a buffet style breakfast with a good introductory price of just £7 and seeing how they are only 2 mins up the road thought i would give it a go, eggs were cooked to order (nice touch) sausage and bacon were very nice the sort you would expect from the butchers, there was black pudding which was very nicely cooked (not the disintegrating over cooked slop you might usually get) fried bread, hashbrowns, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and chips (wasn't expecting that but the kids might like it) all served with toast and real butter. coffee was excellent freshly ground all in all a very nice breakfast, grab a bargain i think the offer is on for the next week or 2, and if you like a carvery its excellent we have had several and its been very good and hot (every time!) as a point of reference I'm in my 50's so I've been around the block and know a nice meal when i have one :) if you like your ale i can recommend the neck oil

Having visited here many times and enjoyed what was a top quality Sunday Carvery, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and the service from the staff. For starters, we were seated in the darkest part of the restaurant, even though there were plenty of tables available, and it was 5pm so I don’t think all those spare tables were booked. When a different waitress came to take our drink order, we asked to be seated somewhere different, this was no problem - so why place us in the worst seating to start with? Albeit we booked for the last sitting of the day for the Carvery, and with this in mind I didn’t expect the vegetables to be as they are at midday, but the vegetables were basically mush. There were no carrots, and when I asked if they would be anymore I was told very rudely by the lady staff member who was carving the meat, “no more carrots” there was no apology, (btw she needs training on carving a joint, my beef slices looked like three rump steaks it was that thick). I was then informed that if I wanted carrots, there was mashed swede and carrot available, which I had. But it was inedible as it was like puréed baby food. When we paid for our Carvery (which was definitely not worth £16 per person) we were not asked ‘if all was ok with our meals’ which seems to be the norm at other restaurants. So all in all, the Plough and Harrow has really gone down in both its quality of food and customer service from the staff.

A very pleasant Greek salad with flat bread and hummus and plenty of feta but lacked tomato- 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and dressing. I would have asked for dressing however no-one approached our table whilst we were there to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our food. We left without dessert or coffee for this same reason. Menu not as good as 12 months ago

I popped here quite a few times having paddle boarding on the Avon as it's on the way home. The service has always been very slow. The last time we visited we waited over an hour for cheesy chips which eventually came out cold when I asked where they were. We spoke to a waitress who was very nice and said it's not acceptable and they'll refund us everything when we've finished (inc groups). After waiting at the bar for 20 mins I was served and told everything had been refunded. After a few weeks I realised it hadn't been refunded. I have emailed and messaged on FB and just keep getting ignored.
