Very friendly bar staff and a good sized beer garden right next to the canal.”

“visited today for sunday lunch after a walk in the woods. Service was brilliant and the food was amazing. A little gem of a place with a beautiful garden to relax in. Dog friendly too - loved the clips on the benches to hold the leads and the water bowls. 10/10.”

“Myself and my family visited Weds the 18th of December. We were welcomed with a smile and directed to our table. Service was good, food was home cooked and delicious. A quiz was been held whilst we were there, very well supported.”

The staff were rushed off their feet, meaning waiting over an hour for food, so our food was arriving & the rest of our parry were finishing. Not enough staff on duty.”

“We happened on a day when the kitchen was being refurbished so a minimal menu of meals in a basket. We had two sausages and cheesy chips and were delighted. The food was piping hot, very tasty and genuinely very enjoyable. The staff were friendly, nothing to much trouble and the chef came out to check we'd been happy. Obviously I can't give a verdict on their full menu, but I understand it will be up and running in the next few days, based on our experience I would expect that it will be extremely good.

“We visited on Thursday 7th August having just been to the safari park.

We had decided to stay here for the night in order to avoid being in the car too long in 1 day as we live in Mansfield.

Needing somewhere to eat with our 2 young children, this place seemed ideal.

The staff on arrival were very pleasant, and the menu just what we needed. Being a chef myself, it's clear that the kitchen staff here know how to do simple food well, which is what the majority of people want these days.

The food is very good value for money and clearly the people who work here do a good job.

We will definitely return when we are next in the area.
