We were excited when this reopened as on social media it looks a friendly & welcoming pub. Unfortunately when we went for drinks with friends, the old short haired lady made us feel so uncomfortable we will not be returning. They were quite rude and abrupt, & made our friend feel silly when she asked a question. Definitely not family friendly pub & if you’re not in the clique I wouldn’t bother going.

Only stopped for a drink and a bag of crisps after a walk, but a good selection of beers, etc, as well as non alcoholic drinks to choose from. Nice section of bar snacks and one of the few pubs to offer the opportunity of a filled roll under a glass lid at the bar. Something I've not seen in a pub for a long time. ?We sat in the garden with the dog, super views and plenty of staff passing who cleared empties, etc.Worth mention is a parking charge of £3 for those who wish to park and walk but not eat or drink in the pub.Parking: Recently extended.
Having been a regular to this pub for 10 years now, and seen many changes. The team here are first class. Fun, and friendly, the camaraderie that flows from the landlady and landlord through to the managers staff the customers is something needed in the pub trade. Other people may think I'm biased but that is why it is my regular with locals who are amazingly accommodating. Cannot fault. Those who negatively think they have a right to park in their carpark and go walking in the woods without asking permission or eating and drinking there should ask what if it was their business would they want a customer parking space taken.Vegetarian options: Fine simple yet good food.Parking: Parking is free for customers, those who go walking in the wood's should pay a fee if they are not eating, drinking or socialising here.

Camaraderie, no better place for it, owners, staff customers Brilliant I would move near here. I have been going here for last 10 odd years. I have seen many changes good and bad. I can say that the current owners are absolutely outstanding, firm experienced yet could put Basil Faulty to shame. I have read reviews and can openly say if you treat the owners and staff inappropriately, then you would deserve what response you received. Straight as a die and yet some of the best comedy that is free anywhere on this planet. salt of the earth, Staff and customers. Food never had a complaint about their food and really countryside style menu. Not to detailed but less is more. As I drive their range of none alcoholic drinks is fantastic especially the Guinness 0.0. staff always on their toes keeping people served and clearing away. Child friendly, dog friendly people who behave friendly. in 10 odd years this pub is the best it has ever been and I do not think anyone could better it as it is today.
