What a bargain lunch. £9.95 for a Pensioners lunch for 2 courses! We were with a walking group and the pub was buzzing! Spotlessly clean and lovely efficient staff.

Ok. I need to apologise to the 5 Bells. I have just looked at the opening times and they do indeed shut at 9:30 on a Monday ? so I shouldn't have been surprised ?First visit in years to this pub. The food was good and the staff were great. But there weren't many people in so the atmosphere was a bit flat. And at about 9:30 we were politely told that they were closing. I admit we hadn't order a drink for a while, and we were the only customers at that point, but I was surprised that we were asked to leave. Maybe it was just that night.

Have eaten here on several occasions as it has been a location where we meet friends who live some distance away. In the past the food was very good but today I ordered the chicken curry which was disgusting. The rice was stodge and the chicken as tough as old boots. Did not complain at time to save embarrassment. Very disappointed but will give a further chance at our future meet ups.Parking: very busy but always found a spot to park
