Pleasantly surprised with the food. Not overly keen on restaurant chains but the food wasn't bad at all. Table of 10 over Christmas, I wondered if we would get quality or not, but each of us polished off our plates.Service was good. Amazing service tonight from Chris, he made our visit exceptional. We were a large group and he ensured we were happy throughout our visit. He treated my young son in a very grown up manor making him feel important. 5*

We've eaten at the Maypole numerous times, and it never disappoints. We went again yesterday for Sunday lunch, and being so close to Christmas, it was absolutely packed, and yet the service was still spot on. The food was lovely as always, the staff were very friendly, and the manager Chris went out of his way to make sure everything was ok. We've tried other carverys that are much closer to home, but they just don't match the excellent service and food at the Maypole ?
