Goodies Café
17 High St, Lambourn, HungerfordThe staff were extremely accommodating to our small group of very hot cyclists. They offered to refill our water bottles without us having to ask. The rocky road was particularly delicious. Thankyou.

KFC Membury - M4 South Services
M4 Welcome Break Membury Service Area, HungerfordIn the midst of our modern travel, one may occasionally chance upon an establishment that serves as an oasis amidst the weary road. Such was my recent encounter at the KFC within Membury service station. The clamor and bustle of this rest stop fade into insignificance when set against the culinary delight that awaited me.
Upon entering, my senses were immediately enraptured by the aroma of frying chicken, an olfactory prelude to the feast that lay ahead. The chicken, upon first glance, bore a golden coat, a testament to the mastery of its preparation. To describe it merely as 'fresh' would be a disservice to its true nature. The flesh was succulent beyond expectation, a tender symphony of flavor that could only be likened to the finest poultry from the grand feasts of yore.
Ah, but it was the sauce, dear reader, that transformed this repast from mere sustenance to an ethereal experience. It cascaded over the chicken in generous waves, creating a veritable slip and slide of gustatory pleasure within my mouth. Each bite was an ambrosial flood, a delicious deluge that carried me to heights of culinary ecstasy seldom reached.
As I indulged in this repast, my gaze drifted to the exterior, where the sweeping vista presented itself—a child, spirited and buoyant, being pushed down a hill with all the vigor of youthful exuberance. The scene, though mundane, took on an almost pastoral beauty, a living portrait framed by the windows of this roadside sanctuary.
In conclusion, dear traveler, should you find yourself upon the weary road and in need of refreshment, seek out the KFC at Membury service station. There, amidst the noise and haste, you shall discover a dining experience both succulent and sublime, a true testament to the artistry of modern convenience.
