This is a pub which one might encounter on the route to Clifton Suspension Bridge from central Bristol. Expect to see a wide variety of Bristol-brewed craft beers and ciders. I honestly can't fault it. Came for a roast in summer, loved it so much we returned today.The main draw is the pork crackling, honestly INCREDIBLE. Salty crispy filthy deliciousness.Someone in my party had beef and it was cooked perfectly, described as 'pink and tender'.Roasters were bang on, stuffing was herbalicious and tasty, purple carrots were a nice seasonal touch, Yorkshire puddings came with every meat - proper gert fluffy'uns. We've lived a stones throw from the Hope & Anchor for the best part of a decade and up until recently had only been there once or twice, but since Flick and Ade have taken over it is now our "go to" for roast dinners or a cheeky mid week bite. Epic portions, gravy for days, perfectly cooked meat, and decent wine for a very reasonable price. Their pies are also immense and there is such a nice buzzy atmosphere (it's dog friendly too).
