Went for a Sunday lunch with friends (March 2024) after recommendation from locals that a new team had taken over and seemed to be making a success of it.Staff could not have been more helpful. The Sunday roast was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for.We sat inside next to the log burner but there is a large sunny garden for when it’s warmer. There is also a decent sized car park. We’ll be going back.(The photo is not mine but taken from online. There are currently road works outside with fencing that spoiled my photos, sorry)

The food is very tasty, the service kind and the place lovely. Although everything we tried was good, the pie deserve a special mention. There has been a lot of change in this pub lately, it is definitely worth a visit.

Ten of us met for lunch at the Golden Eagle where I had one of the tastiest beef pies ever. With a golden crust the meat melts in your mouth. My only disappointment was that I had no room left for the sticky toffee pudding desert which looked equally delicious. I will be back for that next time.

Really enjoyed a couple of drinks with my Mum. Haven't been in for a while, felt like a bit of a maker over had taken place. Very enjoyable.

The food at the Golden Eagle is excellent, the menu is selective. Rather than providing an extensive selection of mediocre quality, the team here clearly concentrate on providing food of exceptional quality. The service is well executed, the Landlord is friendly and accommodating and that is reflected in the serving team. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Just been for lunch with my son & husband. The food was way beyond our expectations. Delicious. Just eaten the best soup I've ever had & my son loved it & he doesn't eat soup! The meat pie my husband had was full of delicious tasting beef & the chicken & chops my son had was 5 star plus too! Booked for Mother's Day. Chris & his team were very friendly & welcoming & great to see the pub looking so nice. We will be back & we wish them the best of luck ?⭐️?

What a hidden gem ♥️We just popped in on the way home after a drive to berkhamsted. The food was INCREDIBLE- a small but well thought out menu. We had home made pies (amazing pastry) and the ruby piggy - tandoori spiced pork - so so good… and to finish, the lemon cloud pudding was to die for ?I have pinned the pub on my Google Maps so we can come again! ♥️

went to the pub a couple days ago service was great, food was ok -not great however the point that made me write this review was the poor atmosphere due to the new owner who seems a little patronising and rude to his

The best roast in Bucks. The pub changed hands semi-recently and the food is now unbelievably good. Service is friendly and quick, portions are beyond generous, and the pub has a very friendly atmosphere. Well worth a trip, an ideal end to a walk in the woods and countryside that surround the village.

Loving the new atmosphere and the absolutely delicious food. 100% recommend coming whether it be for nibbles or a full meal! So glad it’s become an inviting pub with such good food served!
