Food was cold and average really for the price.

One of the oldest coaching inns in England. Cosy venue with low wooden beams, roaring fire, selling food and drinks. Service is good, but can get quite busy and cramped at the bar. But I would recommend visiting for the atmosphere and quiet fire side chats.

Delicious meal here tonight - we really enjoyed the food which was beautifully cooked and presented - the mussels were just the best. Also a lovely little snug for a tipple before heading back to our hotel. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Cookham.

Brilliant gastro pub - superb food, delightful atmosphere, good service. Not cheap, but good value considering the superlative quality. Incredible wine list, excellent draught ales. We did not stay here, so I can't comment on accommodation.Food & drinks: See main review - can't find enough words to praise the food and drinks!

It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. The pink peppercorn squid was small for a starter. A few years back, they did it on a chopping board, and that was better.

The Bel and Dragon at Cookham is a lovely old pub and is well located in the village centre for those walking the Thames path. We had a comfortable and nicely furnished room. The staff were friendly and attentive. Dinner and breakfast were very good.

Went for a meal with friends. The place accommodated us ( a party of 7) when we arrived just as the kitchen was closing. We had to rush to choose what to order and 5 of us chose the fish and chips which was fine but felt a little heavy later. Very few mushy peas accompanied the dish. The fish and chips were ok maybe a little overcooked. The staff were friendly and the service was good. It is a historic place we didn't really have time to explore. The deserts were good too. Especially the chocolate mouse.

Excellent food in lovely old pub with modern extension. Service excellent (thanks Ben). Thoroughly recommend.

If you're looking for a beautiful place to eat great food, you're certainly not going to regret coming here. An old building front sells the image of timelessness, though the feeling is lost a little as you enter the (admittedly very pretty) extension to the dining room. The food is priced a little highly for what it is (the lowest priced steak, the bone in sirloin, is about £29 as per my visit, and it's a sizable steak but I wouldn't quite price it there.Regardless, the place sells a wonderful time with friendly staff and a welcoming, comfy atmosphere.Walkability: The building is directly on the road with a relatively thin path and nowhere apparent to park. There are nearby roads without lines, and I believe a small car park around the back/around the corner.

This venue is located quite close to the Thames path in a quite a small village which has another two other pubs. The room was very spacious and smartly decorated but was accessed via a very low bedroom door. It also had a smaller room adjacent accessed via a very low door for a child. On arrival we were given an aperitif to take to our room which was a bonus. Breakfast was served in a very smart dining area but a little sparse with regards portion size but as we have small appetites this was not a problem for us. As we were walking part of the Thames path the venue kindly agreed to take delivery and pass on our bags to the baggage transfer company (so a very big thanks).

Staff amazing, decor & vibe great but the food is horrible. The truffle Mac & cheese was a mushroom slop of pasta with a sprinkling of cheese on top. Hardly Mac & cheese & I didn't taste any truffle in it at all. Burger - poor. It is a frozen store bought patty based on eating it. Food is absolutely terrible here, don't waste your money here. Go across the road to the other pub for better food. This place is only worthy of a drinkFood & drinks: Absolutely horrendous food. Truffle Mac & Cheese is total slop, they do t even bother to do a béchamel sauce! That's a basic Mac & cheese foundation. It has no truffle taste & has a poor sprinkling of cheese on top..I've never been so shocked that what showed up on my plate was so far removed from what it's supposed to be based on the menu. Burger - just go buy yourself a frozen burger in Tesco, it's the same quality & quarter the price. Food here is disgusting

Nice old world pub with dining and garden to the rear. Service a little slow...very similar to the Bel and Dragon in Churt but centre of the village here.No parking but plenty in the street.
